@whiverem, It just got confusing for a moment. English is your second language, what is your first? Which UMPI degree are you looking at? And now, which WGU are you reviewing? This is the main reason you want to be up front and provide more details (if you did the addendum/template) that would have answered many questions alone.

Yup English is my second language. My first language is Urdu, it's the main language of Pakistan.
The UMPI degree I'm looking at is the one mentioned here: https://degreeforum.miraheze.org/wiki/Pi...egree_Plan. I think it's a bachelor's with area of emphasis in Information Systems.
Schools in the past have either waived their foreign language requirement for me or I've always avoided schools with this requirement.
I just didn't want to leave too much information about myself here, in case it shows up on Google or is visible to those browsing this site. I didn't want to be found here by some people I might know offline. I hope this is okay. Thanks.

There is at least one ACTFL exam for Urdu, I believe. I think it is either the OPI or the OPIc. Unfortunately, I cannot check right now and confirm which it is.
As for the Coursera courses, you don't have to complete them. Those are just suggestions for classes you can take if you really want to fully maximize credit transfer. Not everyone does, especially when the UMPI classes they'd replace are relatively quick and easy.
There are only two requirements that we think MUST be transferred in: the foreign language class or classes and the science class. Everything else is generally pretty fast and easy at UMPI.
In progress:
TESU - BA Computer Science; BSBA CIS; ASNSM Math & CS; ASBA
Completed:
Pierpont - AAS BOG
Sophia (so many), The Institutes (old), Study.com (5 courses)
ASU: Human Origins, Astronomy, Intro Health & Wellness, Western Civilization, Computer Appls & Info Technology, Intro Programming
Strayer: CIS175, CIS111, WRK100, MAT210

If you (or anyone else on here) gets a chance to look into this, I was wondering, does the ACTFL exam for Urdu require reading or writing in Urdu, or do I speak to a person? Can it be done online at home? I can't read or write in Urdu at all, but I can speak it okay I think. Sometimes I have to ask people to explain to me words if they're using words that are not commonly used. I've been in the US most of my life but talk to family members in Urdu on a regular basis every day, it's usually a mix of Urdu and some words in English. Thanks so much for all the info.
Edit: I could probably learn to read and write in Urdu on my laptop on my own with the amount of resources online but it would probably take as much time as it would to finish a degree at WGU, so I might as well just do a bachelor's at WGU I'm thinking. Plus I don't ever need to read or write anything in Urdu in life so it would be kind of useless for me.
Edit: It sounds like I need to do OPI. Its page lists Urdu here: https://www.actfl.org/assessments/postse...sments/opi. OPIc's page here doesn't seem to list Urdu: https://www.actfl.org/assessments/postse...puter-opic. And it sounds like it just involves talking to someone online from webcam, and there might not be any reading or writing part, but I'm not sure.
Also do I have to pay for this, and how much would it cost me?

The foreign language requirement for UMPI can easily be met with Sophia's Spanish while you're earning credits for the Pierpont associate.

Urdu is an available language through ACTFL/LTI as either the OPI (Oral proficiency interview) or WPT (written proficiency test). They are each $165, and you can earn up to 12cr (6 LL and 6 UL) this way. So if you don't have a lot of credits already, this is a great way to get them.

Hello, have you read what is asked for in the template or the addendum? We don't ask for any identifiable info (address, birthday, email, name, SSN, telephone, etc), in fact, most of the time when people provide too much personal info, we remove the details or the attachments that contain these pieces of info. I can understand the too much info part, but I just don't understand the part where you can provide enough decent info for others to help you with.
That's all I'm trying to get at, so instead of people picking up pieces of info from you, the more you provide, the better the answers you get. Not only that, ask yourself, you're saving people time by being up front instead of people asking to get one piece of info at a time... You get there easier/faster, plus, it'll take less resources for those who are helping you. So, it's up to you, are you here to help yourself better or delay that help further... You're welcome.

ACTFL, there is a cost. You can review their links by searching, they just don't inform you there is a proctoring cost as well...
But, as the last poster mentioned, you can take the Spanish I at Sophia.org since you're going to take those credits anyways!
You save the cost by more than half, but will need to spend a few weeks or a month, to complete your courses anyways...

So I can just do the Urdu ACTFL OPI exam which is $165 and that should satisfy the foreign language requirement at UMPI?
Do I have to go somewhere to do the OPI exam or can it be done at home online? Thanks.

How long do you think the Sophia Spanish course would take most people who have no exposure to Spanish? All I know in Spanish I think is gracias, which I think means thank you or thanks. I've never really spoken to anyone in any Spanish in my life.
I think doing an OPI (Oral proficiency interview) for Urdu, my first or native language, would be easier since I already can speak it okay. I have no problem having a conversation with someone in Urdu. Plus I might use Urdu with family members, where as I might never use Spanish in my life. Thanks.

The ACTFL exams can all be completed at home.
Sophia Spanish is pretty easy, especially if you have passing familiarity with at least one other language. If you have the budget, however, the ACTFL will certainly be easier if you have fluency in a language that isn't Spanish.

I think I'll just do the Urdu ACTFL OPI (Oral proficiency interview) exam. And this alone should satisfy the foreign language requirement at UMPI right? Thanks.
