CLEP Biology or Natural Science????
#11
Is natural science real clep is in 2 sections or just one whole section?

I found many are saying peterson is somewhat similar to real test . Is it the free online peterson or the pre and post tests in the text? Really appreciated the help.

I took the Natural Sciences (NS) test today and passed with a 52 but it was a little ugly. What the heck, a 50 is like an 80, both pass!

I used the Instatncert, Princeton review and Peterson's test prep. All are great to give you an idea if what is going to be on the test.

I found the Princeton review closest to the real thing but slightly easier. The Princeton has great information. If the REA was out at the time I took this I would have gone for that based on the prep I got for the Social Sciences and US History II both of which I did quite well with.

The Peterson's was much more difficult and I had a tough time with the practice tests, it paid off though in the end.

I am not a science guy but I know a little about a lot and that largely influenced my decision to take the NS exam. Bone up on your Biology and if I can do it, I am sure most others can. Good Luck!

Probably the free online ones.

I would def.go with the nat. science over bio. Reasons persnally for me, I have a broader base of knowledge, not so much deep. NS covers so much more that bio does. I asked a local college for test pre papers, and the bio study was extremely difficult, very technical questions. NS offers more for one who is an "educated guesser" Smile
best of luck. I'm going to be going for my NS test sometime this year, hopefully.

Maybe you should try PMing some people who have passed it.

The NS exam is 50% biology and you cannot go in with half the knowledge of Bio. Most students, myself included took Bio first and then boned up for the NS exam. This way you can earn 12 BIG credits instead of just 6.

Although I haven't taken the Biology exam, I'm sure Natural Sciences would probably be easier since it is much more broad. I used the Comex guide and the REA book to study for the Nat Sci test and got six credits for it.

I guess it could be compared to taking the CLEP College Math exam versus the CLEP College Algebra. One is much more general, the other more concentrated and specific.
