I have just discovered the BOG degree and interested in fulfilling most requirements through Sophia.com if possible. With one year of general ed requirements from a university it seems that would mostly cover the 15 general ed requirements. From there it looks like 45 elective credits are needed. Can these be anything or is this the Area of Expertise? Once general ed is taken care of what is the easiest way to fulfill the elective courses through sophia? Also, auto CAD vert was done in High school, but not sure if this would count for anything
Thank you

Take anything from Sophia.org into your Area of Emphasis, review the WIKI for options, take the cheapies or freebies and get the trifecta of certs, degree, experience. It may be beneficial to find out what your next educational journey is in, so you can take the same classes and transfer them to the Bachelors of your choice.

For the 45 credits of elective courses needed for the degree can you take any sophia class of interest or do you need to focus on a certain area such as IT? I’m reading that some courses can be passed in a matter of days.
Also, if a person attended one year of college and tested out of general math, but did not complete a math yet is there a way to test out of the math credit more quickly?
Lastly, for someone who has completed one full year of college and only needs electives, how quickly could the degree be earned? Thanks in advance

Here are the links that will help you decide on that, it's all on the WIKI, you may want to review the post from yesterday, I've merged them into this thread of yours. There may be other links on the WIKI you may want to review, even the ones in my signature. Take some time reading posts, threads, creating a spreadsheet, and also doing the addendum/template so we know what exactly is your educational journey, such as a Pierpont BOG AAS to a check the box, specific, or trades related Bachelors.

Thank you for your help. I will look into all of this. This is for an entry level job that requires an associates degree, so not planning on moving forward with a bachelor’s at this time.

Since you're paying for Sophia.org already, I would try to max the credits you can with the courses that do not have any touchstones (writing assignments), you can review the equivalency WIKI here:
