Any updates from anyone doing this?

I’m considering it, but do not have US degrees (UK).

So update- I am fully enrolled and take my first class in February. It's going to be a challenge juggling everything I'm doing, but I'm giving it my best. I did take some MBA courses through Patten when the school had regional accrediation. Those 4 courses were allowed to transfer, leaving me with 8 classes to do. I'll let you all know how it goes. Good deal so far!

Would this degree be generally recognised in the UK/Australia?

I know it’s NA and not RA, but still unsure of what this means outside of the US.

Thank you all

I'm in the current MLM program and also hoping they offer other degrees.

One question: is it Nationally Accredited?
Is it the same as the University of the People? I'm wondering how other RA (Regionally Accredited) universities will view this course.
Or is the difference here that it involves a real university, Patten University?

Quote:About Elmwood Institute
Elmwood Institute is a division of Patten University, which was founded in 1976. It is a private, non-profit institution owned by the Patten Educational Foundation (PEF). Patten University is accredited by the Distance Education Accrediting Commission (DEAC).

From what I have read, most members here do not favor Nationally Accredited universities because their credits cannot be transferred to other RA university programs.

Yes, it is nationally accredited (by the DEAC, the same national accreditation held by University of the People).

Yes, this MLM is offered by the Elmwood Institute which is currently a unit of the current Patten University (est. 1976 as American Graduate University).

But no to your implied question: The current Patten University (est. 1976) has never been an on-campus university and has never held regional accreditation.

The old Patten University (est. 1944 as Oakland Bible Institute, closed 2020) was at one time an on-campus university, and at one time (from 1978 to 2020) held regional accreditation.

The current Patten University is not a continuation of the old Patten University. Rather, the current Patten University (est. 1976) is an entity with an entirely separate history (as American Graduate University) that acquired the name "Patten University" and the domain name patten.edu after the old Patten (est. 1944) had closed entirely. It is not a revival of the legal entity, it is an acquisition of the brand and then a separate legal entity using the brand.

Additionally, it is possible that the Elmwood Institute will eventually spin off entirely from Patten. If that occurs, students who graduate after a certain point will have an Elmwood degree but not a Patten degree.

How long is the average time to complete this?

Is there a thesis element?

I read the catalogue, but appears unclear at times.

What is the final assessment?; is it a big multiple choice exam?, is it a 50,000 word essay? Any clarification would be appreciated if anyone knows.

I do not believe anyone knows yet. The first cohort only started last fall... So no graduates of the program yet.

Hi guys, I finished my UoPeople BSc in Business Administration and now got accepted to the Elmwood Master.

They are currently collecting people for the next cohort, so if anybody thinks about applying, now seems like a fantastic time.

Make sure to answer their set of questions properly. It seems to have a huge impact on whether you get accepted or not.

I'd be glad to start with some of you guys Smile
