4 credits left!
#1
Situation: I am currently enrolled in my capstone class at Columbia College of Missouri(online) and I need 1UL Business elective class and a one credit lab. The problem is they do not offer a one credit lab for the online school so any class will do to satisfy that credit.

Question: Does anyone know of some non Clep/DSST self paced courses I could take to satisfy the above issue/issues (money isn't a problem)? Not that I am completely against the Clep/DSST, I am just terrible at taking these tests. If this isn't possible, that's ok too, I just wanted to search the option out.

Praise:  You guys have always been a big help in this forum and I appreciate the feedback given here. Were almost to the finish line, Thank you.

Great question, let me look into that real quick.

From the overview and my reading it seems like they do take ACE credits. It was in the credit for prior learning is where I found it.

I found it in non-traditional credit.  Yes, they do, but they don't guarantee that they will take ALL ACE credit.

I would just go ask for preapproval.  There are 1cr labs available through SL & Ed4Credit.  And both have business courses.

Straighterline offers Online Science courses including 1 credit individual lab courses. You do need to order the lab kit separately from the course and they are a tad expensive imo.

Both Davar Academy and SDC offer several business courses that are recommended for UL credit by ACE/NCCRS. Most of the Davar courses only require a one time proctored exam that includes multiple choice questions and 10 short essay questions after studying the study guide/slides you purchase from them. SDC is presented more like a course with quizzes, a mc proctored final exam, and for UL credit courses 1-3 projects/papers depending on the course.

I would double check with your school to make sure they will accept any of the above options in meeting the specific courses you still need before taking them though. Also if they are willing to accept "any" course in lieu of the science lab, maybe you could get them to accept an SDC science course (SDC does offer Biology with Lab btw) to meet that requirement. The lab portion is completely online and is only an additional $40 for a 3 month access to the lab component of the course. That would give you the most bang for your buck if you opted to do an SDC UL business course given that the monthly $199 college accelerator membership allows you to take two exams per month.

Great options, Thanks! I am talking to the adviser now to see what they are willing to take.

I think the SDC bio w/lab is also NCCRS.

Edit: Looks like it's now ACE approved. My bad.

Yes good catch and sorry, Davar is NCCRS evaluated only. I edited my post. SDC's biology with lab is both ACE/NCCRS evaluated though.
