rickyjo Wrote:. TMW or somebody said something along the lines of $60 per credit? I have not verified this.
I think I misunderstood what the TESC Calculator was saying when I said this. I went back and looked at it today, and it looks like if you transfer the credits in at the time of enrollment, you're not charged, but if you get the credit after you're enrolled for the degree, it looks like they charge $83/credit for 'Testing' credits and $160/credit for 'Prior Learning Assessment' credits.
Under the Testing explanation they only mention TECEPs (which look to be a thing of the past as of the new year,) and the PLA credits talk about 'students earn college credits for college-level knowledge acquired from work experience, independent reading, training programs, volunteer work, or other sources outside a traditional college classroom. '
Yeah, looking back on it, it looks like I miscalculated the cost of TESC, and dismissed them for the wrong reasons.. 2.5k institution costs is a lot nicer than the $13k costs I'd initially figured out on the calcuator back in Oct. Wacky... Ah well, I'm happy with EC so far.
Silly note -
Funny thing is with TESC's calcuator, if you transfer 50 credits in for a Bachelors degree, and then complete 1 credit a year for the remaining 70 credits while enrolled, your cost for your degree is only $160,472.
Allow me to introduce myself. My name is Wile E. Coyote, genius. I am not selling anything nor am I working my way through college, so let's get down to basics: you are a rabbit and I am going to eat you for supper. Now don't try to get away, I am more muscular, more cunning, faster and larger than you are, and I am a genius, while you could hardly pass the entrance examinations to kindergarten, so I'll give you the customary two minutes to say your prayers.
