jec959 Wrote:I took american literature as well but never humanities, I like to read so I bought the idiots guide to american literature read through it once and took the exam. Most people I think need more prep than that for american literature (no ic cards) but I had read most of the books/authors on the exam so I am not a good guide on that one. The info sys & computer apps exam isn't bad but go through the IC cards and be familiar with the old stuff as the test is dated. I never took the A& I lit practice exam I looked at it said holy crap and never tried it.
I didn't use this sites for am lit I think they were in the specific exam feedback but they might be helpful
Norton Anthology of American Literature, 7th Edition
Outline of American Literature
hope that helps
I had to reply to this!!! I am suppose to be sleep and all this posting action...don't you people have lives?!!!!!!!!! I can hear all of you right now saying and pointing, "Look who's talking!!!!!!!"
Any-hoo....you mean to tell me that the same person who said, "Holy Crap"...as you eloquently put it, to the Peterson's practice test on A & I LIT, went and took this CLEP Exam Cold?!!!!! If I understood that correctly you are insane!!!!!....teach me!!!!!!!! I wish I had the guts to do stuff like that when I get impatient.
For example...I wanted to take the CLEP Principles of Management tomorrow. Problem is I called the testing center about 2 hours ago and the lady that does the testing won't be in. I said to myself, "gimme a break." So I scheduled the test for Monday, April 21. After I got off the phone I rocked in my chair and thought to myself, " I should call her back and see if I can take it today!!!!!" If I had the guts to do it I would have called her back. I looked on the bright side/safe side....and said," that just gives me 4 more days to study IC and review other materials so I'll be more prepared." That's the way to justify me being a chicken!!!
Thanks again JEC and thanks for the response.
P.S: You're right and thanks about the heads up. I'm not taking anything that I can't get IC cards for!!! So American Lit is out...I do have the Idiot's guide book here but no IC Cards.
