Hi All,
My adult kiddo applied to Pierpont before the October 2024 deadline and received a letter of acceptance a few weeks ago. We've logged into her account but there is no ROAR link.
To try to not overload Dave or the registrar, any advice is appreciated. It looks she needs one more 3 credits to graduate. Can you offer a suggestion?
SOPHIA TRANSCRIPT is showing the credits listed below.
Any credits for this? I think I saw Pierpont does not give credit for this class however, it'd be nice confirm it. There are 3 credits of the Credly transcript, though I know that is meaningless when it comes to what a specific college/uni will accept.
Foundations of College Algebra (CA0050).
GEN ED Requirements:
1. Visual Communications (VISCOMM1001 - 2019), 3 credits
2. College Algebra (CA1001 - 2019), 3 credits
3. Human Biology (HumBio1001), 3 credits
4. U.S. History II (HIST1002), 3 credits
5. Introduction to Information Technology (CS1001), 3 credits
15 GEN ED credits
ELECTIVES:
6. Introduction to Web Development (CS1005 - 2020), 3 credits
7. Introduction to Ethics (PHIL1002), 3 credits
8. Introduction to Statistics (STAT1001 - 2018), 3 credits
9. Art History I (ARTHIST1001 - 2021), 3 credits
10. Introduction to Relational Databases (CS1011 - 2021), 3 credits
11. Ancient Greek Philosophers (PHIL1001 - 2021), 3 credits
11. Introduction to Networking (CS1015), 3 credits
12. Google IT Support Professional Certificate, 15 credits
13. Environmental Science (ENVS1001 - 2021), * it should show 3 credits but appears to be truncated on the last page of the transcript* - strange!
14. The Essentials of Managing Conflict (CONRES1000 - 2020), 1 credit
15. IT Career Exploration (CS1003), 1 credit
41 ELECTIVE credits
RA CREDIT:
16. ASU CIS-194 Business Technology Fundamentals, 1 credit (pending credit on transcript)
1 RA CREDIT
Total credits 57, so far.
Questions:
Has anyone had any of these credits denied by Pierpont?
Can you suggestion a quick Sophia class without Touchstones that can be done in a few day or week? I know quickly is subjective, but she'll have to decide to which option she can focus on an get through this week.
Thank you!

Microbiology is a quick course that doesn't have touchstones. I don't know what it transfers into because I graduated before completing that class. Environmental science is worth 3 credits at Pierpont.
I also felt the Lifespan development course to be quick, don't know what it will transfer into. Most likely both will be 1999 Free elective credits because that's how most of my Sophia credits transferred into.
Macroeconomics is much easier than Microeconomics and could be done in a few hours. If she can do more courses quickly, she could surpass the minimum 60 credits. My transcript has 99 credits in it, most of them from Sophia but also some Saylor courses as well.

Question for you - Did you apply for graduation before October 4? If so, continue onward towards the degree requirements, if not, continue onwards anyways and put more focus on the Bachelors requirements as well. If, for some reason they're not taking one or more of your classes, you can take the Sophia.org classes in CS/IT to get the emphasis you're looking for or another emphasis, in other words, please make sure to take more than the 60 credits and have a few extra credits that can be used towards a Bachelors...

Thanks, BJ. She did apply before for graduation before the October 4th deadline.
I think she's taken all the CIS class from Sophia but we'll check again to be sure.
Mostly looking for classes with 3 credits and only milestones - no touchstones, since the can take a long time to grade.

Hello forum members.
We're a bit desperate and confused at this time. Sorry keep asking but we sincerely need help and cannot get answers from Pierpont - where they should be coming from!
Can anyone who has experienced this recently please offer some advice? We've messaged Mr Dave and the registrar - earlier this week - and have not received an answer. Time is running out. She desperately wants to graduate from Pierpont in December. She's so close!
Her Sophia transcript shows a class that is no longer offered by Sophia - Foundations of College Algebra (CA0050) - a different class than "Introduction to College Math". The 2024 Pierpont catalog shows it *might* (with extreme emphasis on might) be equivalent to Pierpont's "Fundamentals of College Math" - Math 1207 https://catalog.pierpont.edu/content.php...rse_filter
Since we have not received an answer from Peirpont, we don't know if they're going to accept Sophia's Foundations of College Algebra. For safety sake, we're assuming not.
Since we cannot get an answer from Pierpont, we don't know which other Sophia classes they will accept. We're looking at classes with only Milestones (no touchstones so we don't have to wait for grades).
I made a list of Milestone Only classes from Sophia. There may be others but she's already taken 17 Sophia classes, including all the IT classes (except the programming and they will likely take too long to complete).
I know some Study.com classes might be quicker but we live in rural America where the Internet will not work with the load a proctor adds to it. Also, my kiddo has terrible anxiety and a proctored class just isn't an option, ATM.
Art History II
Precalc - I'm concerned about PreCalc as I don't see an equivalent at Pierpont
Calculus
Nutrition
Chemistry - Not her thing, so a last resort.
Lifespan Development
Managerial Accounting
Financial Accounting
Macroeconomics
Microeconomics
Principles of Finance
Pierpont gurus, we would be very grateful to know which of these should she take or not take? I think she needs to crank out 2 this weekend.
Thank you for helping!

I know from personal experience that they'll accept Nutrition, Accounting, and Economics. For math, I took College Algebra from Sophia.

Do Art History, Nutrition, Lifespan... Those are the ones I would recommend you complete!

@gamebradie and @bjcheung, thank you for your rapid replies! Very helpful!
Nutrition seems to be a winner for the first class needed.
I noticed neither of you recommended Calculus. Is that because you're unsure if Pierpont will accept it? My daughter loves math so I was thinking she could easily knock this out. I don't want her to waste her time if you don't think they'll accept it, though. Or, it is because most people don't enjoy Calculus?
The Pierpont college catalog lists Math 1290 Calculus, as one of their classes.
