OnlineDegree.com Is Finally Open
#81
I emailed onlinedegree.com and respectfully asked to reconsider the minimum age of 18, since other providers either have no age limit or typically 13 (to comply with legal requirements). I received a very nice reply stating that they are working on opening it to those under 18 and that I should check back in a month or so. Good news for homeschoolers or young high school graduates!

Is proctoring at onlinedegree.com with the same provider as study.com? Or is it ProctorU? Also, how much time do you have to work on a course at onlinedegree.com? Thank you.

Yes, they use RPNow to record your exam proctoring. You have as much time as you want to work on the course, it's $9/exam and if you're going with their recommended credit transfer option with Excelsior, it's an extra $40/transcript - do it all in one transcript. They have the free option for transcripts which I would recommend instead, it's all up to you, they'll just send the transcript directly to the school (which should accept it the same way).

Do you happen to know how many hours you have to complete the proctored exam?

The "not sitting on couch or on the floor" part is indeed stupid. I have heard of people that have taken these things sitting on a toilet. Would that be allowed? No idea.

Can the proctored exam be repeated if you fail (paying for the fee again)?

I'm pretty sure you could challenge that since it is technically not disallowed by the standard proctoring rules on RPnow.

Of course, if it is OnlineDegree.com stating that as a requirement, I'd check with them to verify. Heck, you could even state that you don't have a desk, and the only option for test taking is in your living room or kitchen. I suspect they probably don't care as long as the proctoring service is okay with it and no proctoring violations occur while taking the exam.

I just took the exams for the public health class and the economics class. I scored a 78% on the econ. exam with an overall class grade of B-. I scored a 57% on the public health exam for an overall grade of C. I have mostly been playing the videos in the background and then marking complete as soon as the icon allows it. This means that I have been watching about half to two-thirds of all videos. I still received a full participation grade of 10%. In both classes I ended up with about a B- average on the quizzes. They drop the lowest two quizzes and that really makes a big difference in the final overall grade. The final for the public health class was 40 questions. The final for the econ. class was 46. Both were really quick, especially considering there is no wait time for RPNow as opposed to ProctorU. The econ. class required just a bit of math in my head, but I did not need or use a calculator or pencil/paper. It was on the easier side of things in terms of econ. tests. I am just about finished with the English education class and I'll post feedback on that in a couple of days. That one is actually a pretty good class for understanding how language works. I have learned a lot from it.

This is covered in one of the FAQs. I believe you can re-take an exam, but it's a longer than usual wait, like 3 months or something.

Oh and I think that the exam time was two hours, although it might have been 1:30. Honestly, the exams are so quick that I don't think that the time will come into play.
