Just heard back from Mrs. Parks. She listed as a contact on the BOG page and is the Director of Advising and Assessment. I asked if they accepted NCCR credits and to clarify if they would allow for all math to fill the math/science slots. Also, if we did take science courses would we need a lab.
Quote:Hi, Eboni.
Please submit official transcripts of courses, ACE credits, and NCCR for review by our Registrar.
You can definitely fulfill the Math/Scie will all MTH courses.* Any SCIE classes are not required to have separate labs.

Had an excellent conversation with Professor Parks from Pierpont today. A very personable, informative lady. She has evaluated my unoffical Brick and Mortar transcripts and my ACE transcript and I am tentatively ready for August graduation from the Board of Governor's AAS program with a Area of Emphasis in Computer Science.
If any of you are considering pursuing the B.O.G AAS path, I highly recommend it. What a great program. Here are a few answers to the BIG questions that many people have regarding the program.
1) There is no academic residency requirement other than you must have 12 credits from a Community College to enroll. There is no minimum course load that must be taken at Pierpont. Not even the three credits that some other BOG schools require.
2) There is no application fee. There is also no graduation fee.
3) You may read that you need an innoculation record completed. This is generally for people attending the school. They have a 1 semester waiver on it, anyway, and most in the BOG program as transfer students will be out of there within the one semester. And, if you have a personal or religious objection to the innoculations, they can waive that anyway. I am only addressing this, because it has been a concern of some others on the forum.
4) College Algebra is NOT required. You must have 6 credits of Math and Science. Intermediate Math is accepted. If you have 6 credits of science, such as Biology and Chemistry or maybe Anatomy and Physiology, you do not require math. It is an AND\OR situation. 6 credits. Any mix of math and science.
The only drawback that I can see is that if you have no B&M Community College credits to qualify, it could be an obstacle to enrollment.
This program certainly seems great. I am excited for the August graduation, and am rolling on with my BS from TESU.

Thank you for the info! I think I will do this, just to get an AA on the books (small victories to keep momentum).
I'm assuming I should do my 48 remaining credits through SL/Study.com first, then apply, correct?

Is there a list of possible concentrations? Or can you like choose if you happen to have a bunch of credits in the same field?
Asking for a friend who has a bunch of Early Childhood Education/Child Development credits and needs an associate's degree.

I have not seen a list of concentrations. From what Professor Parks was saying, if you have 15 credits in a field of study, you can request to have that be your "Area of Emphasis". Also, your degree will not list the Area of Emphasis. Your transcript will.

Hmm. I haven't any B & M credits. Would it be better to complete a English course with Study.com to fill the com requirement and go with WV? I am currently working on my ba from WGU but was hoping to get an associates so I can sub or assistant teach at a local school. Their requirements state I have to have a associates degree at the minimum.
