Passed with a 76. Very glad it's over with. Overall I'd say I studied about 20-25 hours total.

While I did get help from InstantCert flash cards I think the Peterson's sample tests were the most helpful. Without them I'm not sure I would have passed and certainly would not have gotten the score I did.

Just know all the basics such as supply/demand, production possibilities, multiplier, fiscal/monetary policy, etc. and someone will do well.

I have successfully passed the dantes Here's to your health and the dantes Environment and humanity race to save the planet. I see both of these listed as physical science exams under the dantes course description listings. Okay, so TESC has changed their prior stance on the Environment course and has listed it under my science requirements. Now Iam trying to convince them that this to should be credited under my science requirement and if they do then I ONLY HAVE THE DREADED....KILLER...I HATE MATH COURSE LEFT BEFORE GRADUATION!! So, I need your help in trying to build my case for the science course rather then having them treat the Here's To Your Health" as a free elective. I need your advice. insight, expertise or whatever inorder to convince them to see this MY way. Thoughts ????? Thanks in advance!! Ron

Does anyone have any personal experience with either of these and recommendations as to which one to lean towards first?

I've never taken a CLEP test before and have been prepping intensely for the Principles of Management CLEP using this site and the book my university recommends. By now, I understand the concepts and score very high on the InstantCert tests (all at random order).

To be extra prepared, I took the official CLEP practice test the other night and was surprised at two things.
1. There were a number of concepts in the test that were not mentioned on the InstantCert site.
2. I've read that the CLEP tests are not designed with trick questions, but some of those official CLEP practice questions were definitely tricky, and the answers ambiguous. Still, I got 75% of the questions right on the CLEP practice test.

Has anybody out there taken the Principles of Management CLEP test, and if so, is the test as difficult as the practice test? My university requires a score of 65 (national is 50, I think), but nobody here seems to be real clear on how the percentile ranking works.

Personally, I feel like I've gone into preparation overkill. I also have to take the marketing CLEP exam. Is there an experienced CLEP-exam-taker out there who has feedback on any of this?

Does anyone know if there is an IT certification credit limit at Excelsior that limits the amount of IT credits that can be used for your concentration. I've looked everywhere on thier site and can't find the answer. I even went so far as to call Excelsior admission and was told the best way was to pay the matriulation fee, seems a little extreme.

As mentioned in a previous post, I missed passing the Microeconomics CLEP on Friday by two points (got a 48; needed 50 for p/f). I have to wait six months until I retake the Micro CLEP. In the meantime, thinking I would pass the Micro *sigh*, I am scheduled to take the Macro CLEP on June 16. I have one more CLEP to accomplish and that is Principles of Marketing. I have that one penciled in for September.

Here is my dilemma. If I start studying now for the Macro CLEP (test is on June 16), I know it'll help me in the long run with re-taking my Micro CLEP since I heard Macro is 'easier' and some people have recommended taking that one first. Let's say I pass Macro - I'll have to wait another five months from that point to re-take the Micro CLEP. Is it worth re-hashing the material in November for the Micro CLEP since it'll be a few months since my Macro CLEP? Or...should I just put aside he Micro/Macro stuff for now and start studying for the Marketing CLEP which I had scheduled for Sept.? Then...if I do that - I can reschedule the Macro for October and the Micro for November and then they won't have such a gap in between and I can retain the information since they'll be back to back CLEPs.

As much as I'd like to start studying for Macro now, it might make more sense to study for Marketing now and then study for both Macro and Micro in the fall since I'm not eligible to re-take the Micro until November.

Any suggestions on how to proceed from here? Also, how is the Principles of Marketing CLEP for those who have taken it? I hear it's fairly easy but I'd like some perspectives on those who have taken it recently.

Got the results today-49 is passing, I scored a 58. All I did was study Instantcert for 1 week. Hoo-Ah!

Now I am still waiting on my results from Civil War, USSR and American History II...

This Instantcert thing is gold.

Motivational speakers are always saying how positive it is to state your goals to others so as to reinforce the sense of committment you make to that desired goal. So in keeping with that spirit ..in the next 3 weeks I am going to take both a 6 credit college math clep and a 6 credit natural science clep.
Now that will be 12 credits..12 more than I need to graduate, but these two yuk courses hold the key to my cap, gown, and future. So, what's your goal for the next 30 days. Let's see how ambitious and aggressive my fellow 'Instantcerter's" are willing to be.hilarious

I was wondering how long it takes to get your grade for an ECE test that is essay based...Also, is that type done on a computer or on paper? For some reason I always preferred to do essays on paper first then type them. Are they timed? I know that nobody here has taken the History of Nazi Germany ECE but maybe you've taken other essay based ECE's....I want to know exactly what to expect next month when I tackle this beast....Thanks!!!
