Didn't see this on the board yet. I just saw on the DSST site that they are increasing the test fee to $70 effective 10/01/2006.

I used FEMA credits to complete my associates of applied science degree from TESC and then had my transcript sent to Charter Oak State College to be applied towards a Bachelor in general studies. After receiving my transcript, I have been told that they will not accept my FEMA credits unless it comes in the form of a transcript from Fredricks College. Has any one experienced difficulty in transferring these credits from TESC to COSC?

Does anyone have any resources that I could use to accomplish this? A friend of mine was running http://www.innovativerides.com but he hasn't had the time to update it so he asked me to do it. I don't have any real clue on how to do this, but I would love to learn.

Any books any of you could suggest I check out at the base library? Any online sources that you've used with success in the past? Any help would be great

I have a question for someone who's already registered at Excelsior - with all the pass/fail cleps, does it truly not matter what your score is or will the actual clep score be reflected on your transcript upon graduation/transfer (as in pass-50 or pass-79)?
I would not keep studying as long if I knew it made no difference whatsoever, but right now it is keeping me from starting the cleps that I am sure I could pass, just not sure I could ace. So you could also say I am asking for a swift kick in the you know what !

I've already posted about my ethics test. If that goes well I should have only 4 credits to go. 3 for my WER and 1 for information literacy. I had intended to take a BYU writing course, but now I am having second thoughts.

I am enrolled in Excelsior so I can't take the CLEP written stuff, so I have my sites on either of the ECE writing exams. I've skimmed through the posts, but was hoping for more input. Like, is the 6 credit comp a great deal harder then the 3 college writ? The first is supposed to cover 2 semesters and the second only 1. I've read Excelsior's content guides, but can't see too much of a difference. Is it true that the comp exam isn't scored instantaneously?

Basically I'm wondering if anyone out there has, by any chance, taken both and what they think the differences are? Any advice from people who have just taken one would be highly appreciated just the same.

(TEC.. writing exam I've heard is unscored, though expensive. Does anyone know if TE.. exams are like the clep writing or ECE writing exams, or are they harder?)

I've apparently been working from an old Student Guide for Excelsior as I got the latest update on my status and noticed that two CLEPs I thought were graded were flagged simply as Passes (Intro to Psychology & Analyzing and Interpreting Literature).

I went and found the latest (2005-2006) guide and saw that the number of graded CLEPs went from 12 to 7.

I just thought I'd mention it in case others are tracking their grades with CLEPs.

All of the DANTES are still fully graded.

I started class today and the professor handed out copies of this article on "The case for liberal arts"...I just thought it was pretty dang good and might encourage a few people who aren't so hot on the whole gen reqs =)
