I have been studying 5 hours every day (sometimes more if my boss isn't at work ) and will be taking the Macro CLEP Wednesday. I know that typically, the Peterson's test are a great deal harder than the real test. So, my question to people that have taken the CLEP test, do you feel that studying the Peterson's test helped you on the CLEP? I feel that after studying the IC flashcards, seeing the questions really enforced the concepts. How similar were the CLEP questions to Peterson's test?

I just took and passed the CLEP for this one and I wanted to download my methodology in case it may be helpful for someone else.

I studied using the videos from Teacher Resources by Annenberg Media videos 1-14, and read through a few of the instant cert flash cards, mostly the pre-colonial cards. I also read the U.S. History I booklet from pass your class. Another resource I used was from "The Teaching Company", they have a U.S. history series of which I listened to lectures 1-48. Lecture 48 is the end of the reformation.

Things I wish I had studied a bit more; Womens suffrage, Quotations from various people from the antebellum (SP?) era and Chronology of events leading up to the civil war such as formation of the Republican party, Browns insurrection, Lincoln-Douglass debates, etc.

Hello all! I have a quick question for those in the know. I have a spreadsheet(SS) of courses I need to satisfy my degree req'ts for a BS in Nuclear Engineering Technologies from Excelsior. On this spreadsheet there is a 3 credit communications requirement, which according to the SS, can be satisfied by a CLEP or DANTES. Does anyone have a clue as to which test might satisfy this req't? Any input would be great appreciated! Thanks in advance!

1. These two books from the Essentials series (little green and white books - one called Business Law 1 and one called Business Law 2)
2. Comex's Business Law for the CLEP exam
3. Instacert

My question to you oh-so-wise-and-already-took-it, can I get away with just instacert? And how long did y'all study for this sucker.

I'm trying to get my Bachelors with Excelsior college, and I try to get it fast. My current schedule is 5 exames per week (after work) for two months, and I should be there.
Has anybody tested so quickly?
Can you share your experience?
What is the most efficient way to get all the preparation done in time :confused: (other then InstantCert, which was already a HUGE help yesterday.)

Operations Management TECEP (Thomas Edison College Exam Program) is up!

I would recommend using the official textbook in conjunction with our materials--at least until some feedback starts coming in. After all, the TECEPs are ridiculously expensive exams, so you want to pass on the first try!

Also, does anyone know if Op Mgmt is supposed to count as upper-level credit?

Hi, I'm new to the forums and was wondering if anyone had any experience with the ECE Nursing Exams?

I've recently taken A&I Lit, Sociology, Psychology, Lifespan Psychology, and American History 1 through Clep and Dantes. Now I'm going to start taking the ECE test and was wondering what to expect.

Also how accurate are the "study guides" that Excelsior provides? I've purchased the text books but I'm feeling slightly overwhelmed. A little guidance and a good place to start would help greatly.

Wooohooo! 6 semester hours in one day! What an exhilerating feeling... My girlfriend Anna and I have been studying for Educational Psychology off and on around Christmas, and we were finally ready this Wednesday. But, the testing centers just weren't back together after the Christmas break, so when they couldn't take us Wednesday, we decided to try two exams at once. We started studying Fundamentals of Counseling Wednesday afternoon, and this morning we went to tackle both exams...

It really went great. It was a good bit of time to stay focused intently, but we did Edu. Psych in about 1 1/2 hours, and although Fund. of Counseling was a little harder, it only took 45 minutes. We studied for 10-12 hours for Edu. Psych. and 8-10 hours for Fund. of Couns., just trying to learn enough to pass (with IC only). We started with Edu. Psych. and it was pretty much as expected, and IC was more than enough for that exam. It's a straightforward exam that isn't very "deep", so if you know the facts/names/definitions/terms from IC, along with a little educated guessing, you'll pass easily.

Fund. of Counseling was fine too, although it was harder that Edu. Psych, as I thought. The IC material was full of many more names, dates, facts, terms, etc. than Psych, but we managed to get by with just IC.

Scores:
Edu Psych:
David 62 (50 was passing)
Anna 68
Fund. of Couns.
David 52 (45 was passing)
Anna 60

And no comments about who scored (and scores consistently!) higher than the other. :o)

So, I'd recommend both of these exams as easy to average, straightforward, and defintely doable with just IC if you go over the material thoroughly.

PS Final count: Anna only has one class left!!! Criminal Justice is scheduled for next week, then she's done!
And, I'm down to 13 tests to take (including one 6 hr).
