Let me give you some background to help better understand my case. I'm a math/physics dual major. I just received an A in Chem 1 in past semester, with one of the highest grades in the class. I took a Biology class [for non-science majors, this is before I added a physics major] 3 years ago and received a B. Basically, I'm trying to establish I have a decent background in science. I'm astute at reading and eliminating obvious choices though.
I'm an autodidact; a self-learner. I also like a challenge. I put of studying, somewhat purposely until Friday night. I planned on studying nearly non-stop for the Biology CLEP Monday morning. I figured with random guessing I would get 20% questions right (on average). Only requiring me to know about 40% to provide myself with a decent window to pass this exam.
I'm a getting a bit more nervous as the time goes on, so I'm asking for advice from people that have taken the exam or other science CLEPs.
1. I saw on here a previous post about lab questions, and that they threw off many test-takers. Does anyone know where I could see some GOOD examples of these/their prevalence on the test?
2. Anything to STRONGLY focus on? (I have the list of topics, of course)
3. Would it be better to get a rough understanding of all subject matter, or to focus more deeply on topics I can get to/more important ones?? I've been reading the questions can be a bit specific.
4. How do the questions of the biology CLEP compare to the ones on this site? I took a practice test cold and score about 83%. CLEP Biology Practice Exam - Free Test Prep and Review at PracticeQuiz.com
THANK YOU

I have been doing lots of reading on this forum and researching my options for College Algebra test using ALEKS. My initial assessment turn out to be 68%, can someone please tell me what is the minimum score require on ALEKS for TSEC credit? Since then I have took some more tutorials on Virtual Math lab of Texas A & M so I am feeling good about it but just want to know. So I can plan my final assessment for real credit!

Hello everybody,
Hopefully this post is for nothing and I pass my English literature CLEP exam this upcoming week worth 6 credits and I get to graduate March 21st! I need 5.02 credits and Excelsior says this will do the trick.
BUT, my question is if I happen to not pass the Eng. Lit. Clep - what are some good "backup options" to get these last 5.02 (6) credit hours???
The only other 6 credit hour CLEPS that would be available to me are Humanities and Social Sciences and History. Anyone have a recommendation on which one out of those 2 are easier to pass? I would say I have a minimal background in both and I would be pressed for time to study for weeks. Also, I have never taken a DSST and know nothing about them. Are there any DSST exams that you can earn 6 credits on one test for Excelsior? What site am I able to go to to look information up on DSST? The only thing I saw was upper credits or lower level credits which I don't know how to calculate to see if it would equal 6 credits for Excelsior.
Any recommendations on Humanities vs Social Sciences and History and/or DSST exams would be helpful.
Like I said, hopefully I just pass this Eng. Lit. exam this upcoming week and this will not matter - but I have been really struggling feeling prepared for this exam so I am trying to prepare a backup plan.
Just as a background I attempted American Literature without any study and got a 42. So I am unable to retake that for 6 months. I took A&I Lit without studying and got a 62.
Here is my list of what I have completed:

I have not taken a math course in 40 years, and wasn't the best at it then. I am very new to this and have poured over the forums. Hope i am doing this right and posting in the right place! Which would you recommend i sign up for, looking to move as quickly as possible and biggest bag for my buck. I am going to work towards a BS in business with a concentration in Human Resources. Starting at ground zero. Have enrolled in Excelsior but have yet to take my first CLEP. Thanks in advance.

My husband and I are planning a special vacation for our 30th anniversary this March. We went to Puerto Rico for our 20th and we loved it. We are trying to find an all inclusive vacation this time and we are stuck between going back to Puerto Rico or traveling someplace new. The only other place outside the continental US I have been is Amsterdam, so I have little to base choices on. We want a nice warm location (I am freezing up here in Niagara Falls) and we don't need to go sightseeing just a nice relaxing spot.
I have looked at Cancun, Cozemul, Punta Cana DR, and of course San Juan (can't find any all inclusive there). I don't know enough about any other places to choose them. I have friends that have been to these places and recommend them. So I am asking for your experiences and recommendations. We had a rough year in 2013 and we want to make sure we enjoy this trip. I have been planning for a while I wanted to go for our 25th, but hubby got layed off that year so I really want to make this special.
I am so confused from looking at different sites to book through and different hotels I have gotten to the point I am overwhelmed with all the decisions:willynilly:. I do not want to spend a whole day on an airplane or in an airport so someplace I could get a direct or short layover flight would be nice. Some of the flights I have looked at to Cancun fly me all over the place and end up taking 12-25 hours to get from Buffalo to there. I am sure some of you must have tried a few of these places so where would you recommend?
