Problem with a Penn Foster Grade |

So I have finished Penn Fosters Fin management 101 ... or so I thought.... I just submitted to have it transferred to my ACE account. All the assignments I did were 80 and above. The final I received a 63. But when I do the weighted average online calculator ( I have done two of them) It says I have a 85.87%. Nowhere on the syllabus does it say you have to have a certain grade on the final to get credit for the class.
This is the message I received....All courses have been approved through ACE with the exception of FIN101, Financial Management. You will still need to retake the exam or you can select to accept the grade as is with no guarantee of passing that particular class.
My current grade is 85.87% What is going on??? Has this happened to anyone else?
THanks!

Hi , I am a new college student. I am planning on testing out the majority of my business degree and would like to know if I should take the tecep in english comp. or the clep? I plan on attending thomas edison two years from now but I am currently enrolled in two courses at my community college. I would like to know what test is better and if there is a way i can test out various subjects without having my credits go to any college until I am ready to enroll in thomas edison. Thanks

I need help on these to make up a quick decision on BSBA on Computer Information System at TESC. I made the inquiry below but they will not answer before I re-enroll. Anybody out there that can help or is currently enrolled and in the same field who does not mind finding out about these?
Please advise if the following courses at Penn Foster College meets the BSBA Computer Information System Area of Specialization requirements and how they transfer to TESC i.e. their equivalencies.
1. ACC 211 Computer Applications in Accounting (3 credits)
2. PCM107 PC Operating Systems (3 credits)
3. CIS 235 Structured Systems Analysis (3 credits)
4. CIS 240 Systems Design (3 credits)
5. CSC 275 Computer Forensics (3 credits)
6. CJS 255 Computer-Based Crime (3 credits)
7. INT 128 Network Protocols and Internetworking (3 credits)
Thank You

PhD versus 2nd Masters |

My other thread, "Addicted," has inspired me to ask a question regarding PhD's versus obtaining a 2nd Masters. I'm not talking about myself, I'm just curious about what everyone thinks about the general pros and cons. Basically, if you had the choice, would you choose a PhD or another Masters? What is your reason? What are the pros and cons to both choices? Here is what I've come up with:
Getting a PhD -
Pros: highest level of academic achievement, extremely prestigious, beneficial for those who may wish to pursue an academic career, huge personal accomplishment.
Cons: Few available programs for working adults, time-consuming, research-focused (this could be a pro or a con, but for me, taking many classes on how to do research + statistical analysis sounds like a snoozefest)
Getting a 2nd Masters:
Pros: TONS of options worldwide, ability to choose a more "prestigious" university (not important to me, but might be important to someone who feels insecure about having a Big 3 undergrad,) less time consuming
Cons: What does having a few more letters behind your name really do? Not likely to enhance career except under very specific conditions, low ROI, possible lack of friends/family support - for example, everyone is proud of you getting a masters degree, but might think you're crazy or a perpetual student if you go back to school.
Any other thoughts? Would love all opinions even if you would never consider getting either a PhD or a masters.

Hello, I just received my grade for the TESC capstone (got an A-) and am wondering about my overall GPA. That will be the only graded class from TESC as I have will have tested out of everything else. I did however transfer about 60 credits in from a community college. I'm wondering when I apply for grad school are they going to factor in the community college GPA or just the TECU GPA?

"Congradulations! Your academic record has been certified for the September 12, 2014"
Finally recieved my confirmation, was a little worried I was going to be moved to December, but either way I am done.
I could not have finished this journey without this Forum. I would have never known about Straighterline, Aleks, Saylor or FEMA(even though we cant use them anymore). I started down this path in 2008 and had a lot of starts and stops along the way. So a big Thank You to everyone on this forum, and I do mean everyone because every question that someone else asked or answered has helped me.
I am attaching my degree plan for anyone to compare.

NYC Substitute Teacher Renewel Acceptable Exams |

I have already take the Intro to Ed. Psych CLEP and the Human Growth and Development CLEP. I am going to to take the Foundations of Education DSST Exam. I need 3 more credits to renew my sub license. Can I take Intro to Psych or Intro to Sociology to satisfy the requirement for professional credits? I didn't take them in undergrad so it would not be a duplication.
If so, would Intro to Psych and Educational Psych overlap?
Anyone renewed to the NYCDOE with credits earned from exams? Thank you.
