hi all
I know I don't post a whole lot on here but I wanted to just tell you guys how much I really love these boards and say thanks to for all the help and encouragement...
distance learning can get lonely.
we are on a unique journey and not many people really understand or believe in our goals....
coming on here and asking a question is like when you're sitting in class and need to lean over to the student next to you for some help....
sometimes at night when i'm lying on my bed studying for whichever test and I feel kinda lonely and by myself,,,,i can hop on here and "hang out" with my study buddies....
i kinda wish we could add pictures to our avatars. i know we can put them in our profiles but it would be cooler if we could see eachother as we post...
i guess i'm just saying thanks because without this board and everyone on it and all your awesome ideas, i really don't think I'd be able to do this....
thank you all and hey have a GREAT new years everybody!!!!!!!!
xoxo

[COLOR="Navy"]I have often referred to the forum as the "IC-Forums-Classroom" as we do all in fact interact, exchange information through an interactive dialogue, and share in one another’s triumphs.

Ditto Killer Kitty....the encouragement is invaluable. This site is hard to explain to my friends who don't have similar goals. We're kind of a subset of the college population in a very real sense.

Hello everyone:
I would just want to say thank you to all of you. I am a perpetual lurker on this board and finally got the guts to post my first message. The amount of knowledge on this board and the selfless posters that continue to share their knowledge is priceless.
I just wanted to echo killerkitty that you are my classmates in my head. I am enrolled at TESC and you all have motivated me to continue on my journey in getting my degree.
So again, thank you and have a happy and safe new year!

I feel the same way. Someone on here has a sig that says "help someone on these boards if you've been helped" or something like that. I was so blessed by that attitude! From day one everyone I've seen on the forum wants to see others succeed. Amazing!
Happy new year!

Kitty,
I think you described it perfectly! Last night I was really feeling badly, and couldn't sleep. I was on instantcert in the wee hours of the morning reading and getting encouragement from posts.
I'm in a bit of a different situation than many of you on the boards, in that I'm at a B&M school as well, even though many of my B&M classes are online ( http://www.twu.edu). One of the resources online students have there is a discussion forum. Someone posted a question about clep exams, and I answered, and left my email if anyone wanted to contact me for more in deth information. I got numerous responses, and I was able to say "let me tell you about this great resource....." Hopefully I will see some of my school cohorts here as well! It felt so good to be able to tell more people about this board, because the support here is amazing!
Happy New Year!
