study.com grading
#1
How long does it typically take to receive grades on assignments and tests from study.com? I am coming from Sophia and accustomed to long waits on assignments and instant results on tests but study.com says up to 3 weeks for test results?!?!?

I am finishing my first class with them (just handed in the stupidly long paper, and about to take the text) and I am wondering when I will know if I passed.

Most of the time, both tests and assignments will be graded within 3-5 business days. For longer assignments, it might be closer to the stated 3 weeks.

During certain times of the year, grading can take longer. This is usually just before school starts in autumn and as graduation approaches in the spring. So, it's possible that grading times might be a little bit longer than usual. It's rarely 3 weeks, but it can happen.

I just submitted an assignment to SDC yesterday and they indicated it would be graded within a week. 3 weeks is an absurd timeframe, I would be pretty frustrated if that was the window I was given.

They also say a week for final exam review, but it's always been within a couple days for me.

My experience from a few months back was generally a couple of days. I found them overall to be consistently much faster than Sophia.

Assignments are usually graded in 1-2 days from my experience which is pretty quick.

The final exam, it may take up to a week to get the final grade.

That is true I did several assignments and SDC take on 2 days and the reply back I remember once I submit one and in less than 24 hours it was graded.
I going to take English Comp 1 from Sophia but I read in the forum the English Comp 2 is to complicated.

Sophia English Comp I, you can submit all the touchstones at once except for touchstone #4 to speed things up.

Sophia English Comp II, has 7 touchstones. Each paper has to be submitted one at a time & takes up to one week to be graded.

When I took Eng Comp 2 it was taking over 2 weeks to get papers graded. That was when it was free so enrollment skyrocketed. The grading was horrible with the grader looking for things that weren't in the instructions. After 60 days and 1 extension I gave up and took it UMPI. Finished it in 3 days.

Thanks for the info I will try to take that course else were Sophia incremented the member ship to $100,-/ month so this course will cost around $300,- or more. Have some here taken the English Comp 2 from SDC?

I highly recommend English Comp II at ONU instead of SDC. Not only is it RA, it's post-paid and there are no pesky subscription deadlines to worry about. It's $150 if you finish in 1 month or 2 or 10.
