Hello everyone.
Just wondering which of these is the easiest:
*CLEP Humanities or CLEP American Literature (keep in mind that I have no prior knowledge of the subject matter)
And which one of these is the easiest:
*CLEP Information Systems and Computer Applications or DSST Intro to Computing (keep in mind that I am not a computer whiz...I'm about a 3 on a scale of 1 to 10. It sounds like a lot of folks who have taken the CLEP exam don't do so well. I was wondering if DSST was better choice then.)
I thought it would be a good idea to just direct my focus on my goal of receiving my associates degree (in my hand) by the end of the year. I would love to bring in the New Year (2009) with a degree in my hand. That would be so awesome.
I have already created a degree plan for my BSBA but have not done one for my ASBA so I need the following information from above to complete it.
I also need to decide on a Natural Science/Math exam to take as well. I know I need Precalc- 3 credits...but I need another 3 credit exam to take to fulfill this category for my ASBA. I was trying to save Statistics for my BSBA. I don't really care for math and I don't like science so I don't know what my options are!!! Whatever is easier for someone with zero interest or knowledge in this category. Something that I can pass with IC and maybe a little supplemental material. I would appreciate any advice on this matter as well.
Thank you in advance for your help. It is greatly appreciated. Good luck on all of your educational pursuits and peace be with you all.

What about the analyzing and intrepreting literature exam which is a 6 credit exam and easier than american literature. If you can read and interpret what you read, make sure you know literary devices/terms (use google or wiki) the test is very doable with very little preparation. Try the prep test and see how you do. I was scheduled for another test took that one, and just thought well people on the forum say you can take this exam cold and asked if I could take a second clep, the answer was yes so I took the exam.

Intro to Computing is definitely easier than Information Systems and Computer Applications. If you only need 1, then take the DSST exam

I heard from alot of people on this forum that A & I Lit was fairly easy. But me being me...I just didn't want to have to go through reading and interpreting everything on an exam, from start to finish. I'd rather do an American Lit or Humanities. I figured that if I just went through the IC material thoroughly and read a couple of books that I could pass either with no problem.
I took the A & I Lit Peterson's Practice Test online (just section 1) and I only scored 45 correct out of 80. I wasn't too pleased by that and that entire time was torture on my brain. I have never been a big fan of poetry in that sense so I guess that plays a big part of my reason not to take this exam.
However, as a benefit of the doubt...I did take that practice test at 4am and was darn near half sleep!!! (guess I forgot to mention that huh!!!) And I also didn't mention that I knew nothing about literary terms when I took that practice exam either!!!! So maybe I could stop being so stubborn and look into A & I Lit a little more.
Any more advice you can give me will be greatly appreciated and thank you for responding to my post.

I took american literature as well but never humanities, I like to read so I bought the idiots guide to american literature read through it once and took the exam. Most people I think need more prep than that for american literature (no ic cards) but I had read most of the books/authors on the exam so I am not a good guide on that one. The info sys & computer apps exam isn't bad but go through the IC cards and be familiar with the old stuff as the test is dated. I never took the A& I lit practice exam I looked at it said holy crap and never tried it.
I didn't use this sites for am lit I think they were in the specific exam feedback but they might be helpful
Norton Anthology of American Literature, 7th Edition
Outline of American Literature
hope that helps

I had to reply to this!!! I am suppose to be sleep and all this posting action...don't you people have lives?!!!!!!!!! I can hear all of you right now saying and pointing, "Look who's talking!!!!!!!"
Any-hoo....you mean to tell me that the same person who said, "Holy Crap"...as you eloquently put it, to the Peterson's practice test on A & I LIT, went and took this CLEP Exam Cold?!!!!! If I understood that correctly you are insane!!!!!....teach me!!!!!!!! I wish I had the guts to do stuff like that when I get impatient.
For example...I wanted to take the CLEP Principles of Management tomorrow. Problem is I called the testing center about 2 hours ago and the lady that does the testing won't be in. I said to myself, "gimme a break." So I scheduled the test for Monday, April 21. After I got off the phone I rocked in my chair and thought to myself, " I should call her back and see if I can take it today!!!!!" If I had the guts to do it I would have called her back. I looked on the bright side/safe side....and said," that just gives me 4 more days to study IC and review other materials so I'll be more prepared." That's the way to justify me being a chicken!!!
Thanks again JEC and thanks for the response.
P.S: You're right and thanks about the heads up. I'm not taking anything that I can't get IC cards for!!! So American Lit is out...I do have the Idiot's guide book here but no IC Cards.

I have to tell you that is how I decided to take the financial accounting exam after 1 1/2 weeks of study as well. Traffic was bad, I had to take the back way home from work right by the test center. So I said to myself if you stop in and they let you take the clep as a walk in take it if not schedule it for next week. I stopped they let me take the exam and I passed it. Sometimes you have to be insane for these exams I think. I think if I had tried to prepare to A & I lit I would never have taken it so I just made myself go for it. Hey its only money. Sometimes when the exams scare me I just make myself take them (a&I lit, financial accounting, microeconomics) I probably should have prepared better for all of them.
