WGU - MSML
#1
I'm starting the MSML program at WGU December 1, 2017.  I'm part excited and part ugh.  I know Ransomsoul and a few others have done this one (great thread to follow), and if there's anyone else currently going through the program, hit me up!  Would love a partner through the process.  I plan on accelerating, with a goal of <1 term.

I don't have any specific career aspirations with this degree, but I do have the time and having the degree may open doors in the future for whatever may come my way.  I'm a bit of a planner by personality, so having this degree is some plan b in my head.  Maybe a post-retirement gig.

I'll update this thread with my progress.

Best of Luck!

I am enrolled in the WGU MBA - IT Management program and I am on track to finish January 2018. I took my time the first semester, but to date, I only have Data-Driven Decision Making, IT Strategic Solutions and the MBA Capstone to go. Its EXTREMELY do-able, just make sure you pass your exams on the FIRST attempt. I completed the re-Take plan for the Accounting course (C213) and it set me back at least two weeks!

Great wishes for this project quigongene! Thanks for the kind words on my launched journey/thread. Some key actions that I would suggest in your efforts of one term would be:

Get a little better clarity on why you are doing the program. This will aid with energy during those low focus moments that happen when trying to finish this amount of work in such a small time frame.

For courses with exams, I would heavily suggest starting your study time now to aid in success with first attempts.

Set a top-heavy schedule goal for courses completed in the first two months. This allows you to have a nice buffer of time if fatigue or any courses hurdles come to light in the second half of the program.

As short as 6 months is, you have plenty of time with consistent effort to knock out the degree in 1 term.

Look forward to celebrating your success!!

My plan is to go full steam out the gate and finish at least 6 courses first 6 weeks. That’s the goal. If I don’t get it done it one term it won’t be the end of the world. I just hate to pay the extra tuition for something that doesn’t have a foreseeable ROI.
Thanks for the responses. Orientation is today.
