FYI for anyone doing Managerial Accounting, I highly recommend if you somehow get study.com cheap or another source (like community college) for it cheaply, it's probably worth it. The managerial accounting course is long, dry, and the assessment is basically 13 separate essays :|

You’re making me be thankful that I took Managerial Accounting at InstantCert and I don’t have this on my list of courses at UMPI

Just to clarify something some said - it was on this thread at some point. The YourPace program is not the same as the on campus program. The courses have the same name, but the content is different. The YourPace courses are presented on the Strut Learning platform. Many courses have a very different name on Strut than they do on campus. The content is also quite different. The Introduction to Project management with Microsoft Project course is not the same at all. We don't learn Microsoft Project nor do we use it in YourPace. Project Risk and Cost Management is also very different. In Strut it's called Risk Management. There isn't the cost management component. The descriptions we read are for the on campus courses. I'm not sure why they don't have separate descriptions for the YourPace courses. My first day I had to contact my academic success coach because none of the course names on Strut matched what I was enrolled in. I was in the right courses just with different names.
UMPI's YourPace program is also a competency based program. CBE's are designed for people who have work experience in the subject area. I have not seen any CBE program without age/work experience requirements. CBE is very different than the traditional on campus and online programs. Colleges need to keep their graduation rates up and if by accepting a ton of people without the skillset to complete the degree programs then it looks like they'e just taking your money and not caring about whether or not you can successfully complete the program. We see people say this about many for profit schools....those big famous ones with terrible reputations. Same thing happened with many schools which were forced to close like ITT.

Yeah I'm thinking I should've taken this at InstantCert. I think InstantCert's is easier from what I can see versus writing 13 accounting problems with detailed essay like answers of why and how to solve things.
they're basically asking you to write an entire lesson plan... ugh. this is by far the worst course I've seen at UMPI

That’s really weird. I thought the final was extremely easy. And I didn’t have to do mini essays. I only had to explain like one or two problems. The rest were making charts

Different instructors can change the Final Assessment. The professors do change from term to term sometimes.

I wonder if I got a different final assessment, it seems absolutely insane compared to the rest I've done and very little in charts way.

I've a few questions and some may seem silly:
1) Did you get an edu email address?
2) Did you find that the UMPI YourPace course was similar to Sophia?
3) Do they offer a free transfer credit assessment prior to enrolling?
Thank you
Tina
