Yeah the Long Island thing is weird! I wonder if they contract with someone when they're closed, or Shea just happened to see my application first?
I'll going to finish my degree with a bunch of time left over in the term. If anyone's curious about any course here https://online.umpi.edu/programs/programs.aspx feel free to let me know. I can't make any promises, but I'm probably going to take advantage of my extra time I already paid for next term, by maybe doing a second BA.

Anyone mind sharing what UL BUS electives are available for the BSBA?
Also, how does the BA in History/Political Science work? You pick either one of them right?

There isn't a list of electives for YourPace students. You'll need to talk to your academic advisor. You can take any UL business course not required in your degree program basically. There are 3 different concentrations in the BA Business Administration. There is not a BSBA.
The History & PoliSci degree can be both. Many courses overlap between the 2 concentrations. You'll need to confirm with UMPI that you can pick one concentration or the other.

*sigh* already slightly discouraged as I finally begun the process of requesting info to apply to umpi. First thing requested from me was my high school transcripts which I have myself electronically certified as we are issued the original copies ourselves. However the admissions specialist I'm in contact with at umpi says only transcripts sent directly from the highschool I took them with are considered official. But the school I took them with has closed due to the pandemic so even though my version of the transcripts are as authentic as anything that school would have sent to UMPI I don't think they'll accept them.
I have no idea what to do, I am at a lose.

Im not an UMPI student but I think I read somewhere that If you have prior college credits to transfer in they dont always need high school transcripts. (If that's your case?)
Also I would explain your specific situation due to the pandemic and see If they would make an exception.

A lot of high schools are officially closed due to Covid, but they still send out transcripts. It may be automated, but if not, they are still doing work behind the scenes, it may just take a few extra days to get it out (someone will need to get the phone message and then send out the transcript, probably from home). We moved last July, and we had no problems with getting my actual high school kid's transcripts sent from one school to the other, and both were closed due to Covid AND summer break. They can't NOT send transcripts, this is something ALL schools are still doing during this time.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
EDIT: only transcripts that are sent directly from the school to the college are considered Official.
Colleges are the same. The only minor difference is that you used to be able to order a college transcript be sent to your home, and then you could forward the unopened letter to the college you were applying to. Now, with most schools doing electronic transcripts, there's no actual way to do this.

I'm in a state where many schools are closed. They're doing remote learning. The administration is still working. Have you called your high school? Maybe give them a call and ask about having an official high school transcript sent to UMPI. All colleges want official transcripts which means only the school can send them. What you have isn't an official transcript. It's considered unofficial.

No, they way waive high school transcripts if you already have a degree such as an associate or bachelor's. They don't waive the high school transcript requirement if you have college credits.

I don’t know if this was already mentioned but they accepted my High School diploma in lieu of my transcript.

Wow, thank you all for the response! I'm still in contact with admissions specialist so I'll see what I can do. I'm from South Africa and this school has just vanished, last year I was even trying to get some of my final exemplary records and I still have no managed it because they've just left SA all together it seems. I emailed them last night on the email on their website and received back a notification saying it didn't exist.
Thank you all so much, I understand that they want these Highschool transcripts I just have no idea how to send them. We don't request transcripts from our schools here.
