Yep! you have to take 30 residency credits. So by the time I graduate I'll have 129.66 credits.
@gams007, the UMPI website says you can transfer an unlimited number of credits, however, you must take at least 30 credits in residence at UMPI, as @adegree4me noted. I think someone on this forum attending UMPI has approximately 180 credits. Maybe @ss20ts?

I will say that the English classes, American Government, and science classes will be much easier and far less work at UMPI. I say this from experience as I've taken them. I'll be taking Spanish next month at UMPI.
@ss20ts, very good to know as I am deficient in all of subjects. I was debating taking my ENG and POS classes at Sophia or UMPI, though I'm unsure if Sophia has any classes that qualify as POS. I had definitely not considered UMPI for the science classes but now you've got my thoughts brewing.
I registered for the $149 promo at Sophia so I could knock out my remaining GECs (minus BIO) because I can't afford more than three 8-week sessions at UMPI unless I become employed soon. Are you able to get financial aid? UMPI accepts pell grants. and they also have new student scholarships and transfer student scholarships.
@adegree4me, Thank you for your suggestions! I definitely do not qualify for a pell grant. I will investigate the other options. If I return to work this year, I could cover the additional expenses. It's toss up as to whether I should return to work this year as I've had some health challenges. As well, I have two kids in college and I don't want to impact their potential financial assistance.
IF you do decide to go to UMPI, still apply for FAFSA, even though you say you don't qualify, that way you can get school grants/scholarships.

Any idea on how much these scholarships/grants are? Do you have to apply, or do you automatically give them to you?

They are, but you still need to complete a minimum of 30 credits at UMPI including specific ULs in and out of the major and the GEC. I transferred in 186 credits. It's more like a credit bank so you can see all of your credits, but they don't all apply to your degree. It's really handy when you change majors or minors though! I added 2 minors and having all of my credits already transferred in helped me decide if I should go for my third minor.

Yes, you still need to complete 30 credits at UMPI. Your degree audit will show what you need to complete. Just because you transfer in a ton fo credit doesn't mean that you ONLY have 30 credits left to complete the degree. You still need to complete the required ULs in major and out of the major AND the GEC.

What? I attend UMPI and have REPEATEDLY stated what courses are like. There are NOT Milestones like Sophia at UMPI. I have already completed American Government, English courses, and science courses at UMPI and there's less work than you think. Please stop trying to tell ME what happens in classes at UMPI as stated dozens of times I am an ENROLLED student who is graduating in March which is noted in my signature. You're not educating anyone and you're incorrect.
I asked gams007 since he or she mentioned saylor courses.

This info can be found at this link.

As far as applying or automatically getting them, from what the fin aid office said if you fill out the fafsa, you're automatically considered for them.

Are there oral presentations/speeches? If so, do you record a video of yourself or how does it work?
This may be a stupid question, but if you use a Pell grant/financial aid, are you truly allowed to add more classes if you want to accelerate? When I was looking into NAU's self paced program, I spoke to someone who attended and they said they weren't allowed to accelerate or add classes even when they completed all their work in the subscription period because they were using financial aid and weren't paying out of pocket.
