UMPI application
#1
Hello everyone, I have a question about applying to UMPI as an international student.
I graduated high school in Morocco and went to a national university in Japan but haven't graduated.
I am planning to send my uni transcipts to IEE for evaluation hoping I could transfer some credits over to UMPI, and I am wondering if I need to send over a copy of my highschool diploma as well. If someone applied to UMPi as an international student here please tell me about your experience.

You will need to submit a high school transcript unless you have completed a degree and graduated. You should contact the YourPace admissions staff to see if your high school transcripts will need an evaluation. They will let you know exactly what you need to submit as part of your application.

@achraf15, Welcome to the board, that's a good intro post with a little bit of info, it would be best for you to update the thread with the addendum and template here to provide a better overview of your situation. With more details other than what you mentioned, we can provide a direction and steps for you to follow, I suggest you get as many credits from Sophia.org in addition to the transferred ones: https://www.degreeforum.net/mybb/Thread-...Area-works

thanks for replying.
I got this email from admissions. looks like I can send my uni transcript and hope to get a waiver for high school transcript.

Hello,

Below are the application requirements for international students.

Requirements for International Students (applicants with no prior college experience) -

  • Official English Translated High school transcripts must be submitted directly to UMPI by a certifying official, that states a high school diploma was earned, the date of graduation, and a cumulative GPA. If the above is not provided, the student may submit their high school transcript to an approved evaluation service. Once completed the service will submit the transcript directly to UMPI.

  • Resume (PDF)

  • English proficiency score (taken within the last 2 years OR English language waiver***)
Requirements for International Students (College Transfer) -

  • High school transcript or equivalent (translated or evaluated*)
    • Can be considered for waiver.+

  • College transcripts will only be accepted and reviewed if they are provided through an evaluation service and sent directly from the provider to the institution.
  • If most recent college experience is 10 years or older, a resume will also be required.
  • English proficiency score (taken within the last 2 years OR English language waiver***)
[*]*The evaluation agency must be a member of NACES or AICE.  Unofficial copies cannot be accepted.

**English Language Proficiency tests from the following services will be accepted:

  • TOEFL

  • TOEFL Essentials

  • IELTS

  • PTE (Pearson Test of English)

  • CEFR

  • DET (Duolingo English Test)

You need to have your university courses evaluated not just send the transcript to UMPI.

Yes I am aware, I'm planning to send them to International Education Evaluations.

A couple of months already passed haha
I got my Hokkaido university transcript evaluated from IEE and received an equivalent to 52 credits.
I took the Duolingo english test and got 140.
Last I heard from UMPI was that I need to send them the evaluation of my high school transcript, I'm currently working on that.
I read in a thread that Pierpont is now accepting international students, so I'm thinking I should get the AAS with them since the enrollment fee is only 130$, and ladder up to a BA from UMPI.
