Interesting. If speed was an issue, this forum would get Badges taken from a lot of providers (e.g.Straighterline, Sophia, Coursera, Saylor, Coopersmith)

Either way, thank you for the share and soft warning for future adventurers. Hopefully, the original poster gets some resolution to the issue. Glad to read he at least still has them in Coursera. If all is correct on his end, I am sure a CS rep can figure out the hiccup.

I think it's a good idea for those going to a Pierpont BOG AAS, you need at least 40 "technical credits" anyways for entry into the BAS and you can select the MIS minor, then adding these into your free electives.

24 of those free credits must be UL with the majority of the 24 ULs completed at UMPI. Something to keep in mind.

How did this transfer to UMPI. I think it was you who was completing an IBM data analytics certificate on Coursera. I remember looking up the certificate on the transfer database and it only listed 1 LL course, but that's what it shows for all of the certificates you've completed and you definitely got credit for more than 1 class.

That is interesting! I had no idea a badge could be revoked. I guess it makes sense. They want people to learn the material not just try to pass the test kind of thing.

If Coursera or any provider is revoking badges, it is doubtful that it connects to their interest in student comprehension and is more connected to their interest in getting paid. There was no update from the OP, but I also thought it could be something as simple as a name or email match issue. On the other hand, there could have been a course audit that found problems with some of the projects submitted.

And heads up, no matter how good of a test taker one is, there are way too many projects to wing these certifications. You will get exposed in week one of the courses, let alone weeks 2-5/6. Especially the IBM certs.

The Google Data Analytics cert came in as 12 credits of BUS 245 for me in my recent evaluation at UMPI.

12 credits for BUS245? And not 3 credits for BUS245 and 9 credits in something like COS1XX? Wondering since others have received credit for it as well but not 12 for BUS245 which is a bit odd as it's a 3 credit course.

Yes.  That's why I posted it here, I thought it was different than how they did it previously.

I look forward to the response and would guess they are misreading it or did not need any additional electives and just missed COS1XX being listed in the transcripts.

It should be listed as:
3 credits for BUS 245 and 6 credits for COS 1XX (elective credits).

This course is recommended for a total of 12 semester hours at the lower division baccalaureate/ associate degree level. The fact it earns at UMPI 3UL and 6 LL credits is a nice transfer win.

ACE lists the value as:

Lower-Division Baccalaureate 3 Introduction to databases
Lower-Division Baccalaureate 3 Introduction to SQL Programming
Lower-Division Baccalaureate 3 Introduction to systems analysis
Lower-Division Baccalaureate 3 Introduction to R programming

245 is a lower level course (sophomore). In the transfer database they only have BUS245 listed but not how many credits. On my eval, it is 12 credits of BUS245. Perhaps they have changed it or perhaps they will update it in the future. I have seen others report that it is 12 credits with a BUS245 +9 hours of COS1xx or something similar.

It looks like they are going to allow me to complete the BAS instead of the BLS, as well.

Good catch on my wording. I meant to say that it counted as a key course in the Project Management Concentration degree. Six of the nine are UL, and BUS 141 (Sophia) and BUS 240 (Study.com) can be transferred, perhaps influencing me to remember them all as UL.

What's the interest in doing the BAS vs. BABA besides speed?
