UMPI Credits: Google Data Analytics Professional Certificate - KSoul - 06-22-2022 For those interested in quality credit opportunities, the Coursera Google Data Analytics Professional Certificate transfers in as: 3 credits for BUS 245 6 credits for COS 1XX (elective credits) If you are interested in the BABA Project Management it fills BUS 245 course + 6 electives. And for any other degree, it gives you 9 electives. If you can finish the 7-day trial that's 9 credits for free and even if it takes one-two months, that's 9 credits for $39-$78 dollars. It is not an easy course; however, it is doable and brings a sweet return. RE: UMPI Credits: Google Data Analytics Professional Certificate - ashkir - 06-22-2022 Great to know! Thanks for sharing! Just curious since it transfer for BUS245. RE: UMPI Credits: Google Data Analytics Professional Certificate - KSoul - 06-22-2022 8 courses make up the certification. It has an easy soft serve vibe on the first course; I thought that was the certification for a second, creating a feeling like I was a genius. Each course humbled me a little I went along. Here's snapshot of the course titles giving you a little insight of the course themes.
RE: UMPI Credits: Google Data Analytics Professional Certificate - ss20ts - 06-22-2022 I'm guessing the R Programming is why they give credit for BUS245. We didn't do R in that class. But that class project was a pain unless you knew the language. People are still struggling with it. I'm down for a challenging course, but it's a little disheartening when a core is struggling. Even if I make it through systems like that, I end up with survivors guilt for those left behind RE: UMPI Credits: Google Data Analytics Professional Certificate - MidLifeCrisis - 07-01-2022 I have just completed this course. I echo KSoul in that it isn't a tick and flick course, but it is entirely achievable within the 7 days if you utilise the free trial time at Coursera. It's 8 modules, assessments are principally multiple choice quizzes. Each module has 4 or 5 quizzes of around 8-10 questions each. The final module has you doing a bit more of a detailed project but it's not uploaded and checked, you tell them once you have completed it and it's considered done. There is no obligation to go through the course material before hitting up the assessments, if you want to test out parts or all of it you can. However the course material is thorough. I went in with a bit of background in PHP and MySQL from 15 years ago when that was cool. I did a mix of using the materials and just jumping straight to tests and completed it in 3 nights at 93%. If you are comparing it to doing some of the quick courses for credit at Sophia, it is harder than that. If your looking for a quick and free way to get 7.5% of credits needed for a degree then it's well worth considering. RE: UMPI Credits: Google Data Analytics Professional Certificate - LevelUP - 07-02-2022 I'm planning on doing several Google certs and given the feedback, I'll add this to my list as well. RE: UMPI Credits: Google Data Analytics Professional Certificate - bjcheung77 - 07-02-2022 For those who are looking at UMPI, you should see what all the Coursera certs come in as because you can use these as "free electives" for the BAS or BLS, they allow up to 60 credits for free electives... I think it's a good idea for those going to a Pierpont BOG AAS, you need at least 40 "technical credits" anyways for entry into the BAS and you can select the MIS minor, then adding these into your free electives. RE: UMPI Credits: Google Data Analytics Professional Certificate - KSoul - 07-02-2022 I finished the IBM Data Analyst Professional Cert, which was ten hands full. Since there is a possibility for duplicates of credits from the Google DA Cert, unless you have career aspirations, I can't encourage this as a credit route. However, I like the subject, so it was a fun*ish challenge. It was a draining undertaking that I felt I took on too much several times in the journey. However, I think a significant part of the drain came from the speed challenge I put on myself, and if I had taken even just one month, this would have been a considerably calmer adventure. The upside is, between the three Coursera certs completed, I was able to earn 12 credits: Google Data Analytics 9 credits: Data Analysis & Visualization Foundation Specialization 12 credits IBM Data Analyst Professional Keep in my when using the free trial, that it is humanly impossible to do all three in seven days; here is my approach: Sign up for Coursera certs with ACE credits approved. If possible, complete the cert in the trial period. Cancel your trial, select a new course and start a 7-day trial. Complete & Repeat. Coursera is prettier generous upon canceling a trial to offer you a discount to stay, making a monthly fee of $19 vs $40. At that price, if you feel overwhelmed, just take a breath, secure the discount, and keep plugging away. The only other course that looks of interest that I may try and tackle in 2023 would be the 10 Credits IBM Cybersecurity Analyst Professional. However, I'm concerned about how Ace breaks down the credits (LL 2, 2, 4 / UL 2). It could cause issues transferring them in for a specific course, especially UL options. Transferring the IBM Data Analyst Professional into UMPI for the forum will follow back if anything comes of it. Side note: If you are someone that likes certs, IBM wins hands down. They give a cert for each stage, so by the time you finish the ACE-approved courses, your Credly is loaded with certs. I don't have a total count at the top of my head, but it was so many that I got tired of accepting the new certs as the emails popped up. Now that I am done seeing all that was accomplished is cool. |
