The 2023-2024 UMPI catalog Academic Programs page lists a Computer Science minor and a Cybersecurity minor. The Computer Science minor is new this academic year.
Although courses to complete these minors aren't available through YourPace, has anyone enrolled in a separate YourPace program inquired about permission to complete a Computer Science or Cybersecurity minor using transfer credit?

The catalog is for on campus not YourPace. The YourPace website lists everything officially offered via YourPace. On campus has tons of programs not available in YourPace. You can't transfer in a full minor. You need to complete a minimum of 9 credits in the minor at UMPI.

@Jonathan Whatley, thanks for letting us know of the updated minor lists... I didn't go through it for the last year and a half to see if they did any updates or not. Here's the thing, for those going for the BAS/BLS, they can't get the minor as they are required to have specific courses come in and be completed at UMPI.
Having said that, there are always work arounds, haha! I just linked the person to my previous UMPI Multiple Minor Inquiry thread: https://www.degreeforum.net/mybb/Thread-...#pid401832
BLS: There are four components to the degree:
➤ The student must meet the University’s General Education requirements worth 40 credits.
➤ The student must select a minor from offerings in the current UMPI catalog.
➤ A minimum of 24 credits of the electives for the BLS degree must be in the 300-400 level courses.
➤ A minimum of 30 credits of the BLS coursework must be done at UMPI.
A student can have the BLS Minor in something offered in Your Pace that is completed/supported at UMPI, complete the degree requirements. If they have enough transfer credit for the Computer Science or Cybersecurity courses (without needing to take any extra courses), it can be transferred in completely as the degree requirements already have been met. If the student is missing a course or two, and that course isn't on Your Pace, they need to decide if it's worth it to transfer in another course elsewhere.

Certainly, a student needs to meet UMPI residency requirements for their major, or in the case of a BLS or BAS which requires a primary minor in lieu of a major, residency requirements for that primary minor.
I'm wondering here about Computer Science or Cybersecurity as a supplementary minor added to a different primary program.

This is an exciting concept! I'm curious what would be the most likely courses to transfer for each minor. Computer Science seems like it may be a little easier than Cybersecurity?

Computer Science minor can be had with all the Saylor.org, Sophia.org, StraighterLine, Study.com... The requirements for Cybersecurity seems harder to find...

Missing is MAT 253: Discrete Mathematics. Study.com transfers as a math elective.

It's possible that they'll change the SDC recommendation now that they have a CS minor. One could also attempt to transfer Discrete Math from Metropolia to UMPI.
In progress:
TESU - BA Computer Science; BSBA CIS; ASNSM Math & CS; ASBA
Completed:
Pierpont - AAS BOG
Sophia (so many), The Institutes (old), Study.com (5 courses)
ASU: Human Origins, Astronomy, Intro Health & Wellness, Western Civilization, Computer Appls & Info Technology, Intro Programming
Strayer: CIS175, CIS111, WRK100, MAT210

I would guess any alternative option would come through, I would select the Study.com Operating Systems (either one as an elective of the direct transfer route).

Between TEEX, IBM cybersecurity analyst professional, and the big 4 S's(Sophia, Saylor, Study, StraighterLine) I'd think you could make the cybersecurity minor work if they bring in courses the way ACE recommends them...
