UMPI BABA LEADERSHIP AND MANAGEMENT PROGRAM.

Hi ? everyone,

I am not that new here been following this  forum for a while now and i must say it quite informative here. Kudos to everyone giving out grate info rot help others achieve their academic  goals.

My sorry is i just received an email confirming my admission for the BABA in LEADERSHIP AND MANAGEMENT degree program with UMPI. But i am still trying to knock out classes on Sophia, i have few classes left to cover for my GED course. I was hoping i can knock out out few classes too toward my core/concentration classes as well.here re the list of classes i have already knocked out on Sophia.

Conflict resolution
Developing effective teams 
Environmental science
Financial accounting

Critical thinking ( awaiting touchstone grading )

I want to ask if i can seek an extension towards my start date wish is FALL2. I realize with the way touchstone are graded ( slowly) I don’t think i can be able to meet up if i am to start in Fall2 because right now i still have 2 classes  waiting to be graded. Also can anyone hint me on what are the difficult courses that are challenging in BABA LEADERSHIP AND MANAGEMENT degree program?

Dedicated time to study - ball pack minimum of 5hours everyday.
Time line to finish degree - 12month - 16month.
Tuition assistance - none
Current regional accredited courses - none for now but i am still waiting for UMPI to evaluate my transcript from my AAS degree i had back in Africa.
Current ACE, CLEP OR NCCRS CREDIT - i have some credit from Sophia list above.

I am trying to take both English composition classes with UMPI base on the advice on this forum. So please i want an honest opinion base on my list of classes that i have got, what are other classes you guys will advice me to knock out so i can transfer everything at the same time towards my degree. Your candid opinion will be highly appreciated.

From your list, I can tell you that foundations of statistics won’t transfer and you need to take the lab as well for the human biology. I’m taking Eng 121 comp ll at Umpi this semester and it is really a lot of work.

You can ask to delay your enrollment at UMPI, yes. Or you can go forward with it and let them know that you still have a couple of classes in progress, but you're anticipating that they'll be completed on XYZ date. They've been fine with that so far.

I agree that you need Intro to Stats, not Foundations of Stats, if you want to transfer in a Stats class. At this point, you can either take Human Biology Lab or Intro to Chemistry + Lab. Human Biology Lab will almost certainly be easier/faster.

@Gijaodola, I see you followed my recommendation on your previous thread, I suggest following advice on this thread and your previous one, plus it's great you're creating a new post with the addendum/template to give us a better overview picture, https://www.degreeforum.net/mybb/Thread-...I-yourpace

You really need to tell us what the AAS is in, you may already have credits that go into your degree and you've completed duplicates with Sophia.org, I would recommend waiting for a Fall II session or even delay to a later session so you can finish all your Sophia.org classes that will hit the max transfer.

Complete the missing courses mentioned by pjmix2000 and rachel83az, link us to your academic evaluation when you receive it, save the file as a pdf or picture to your one/google drive and make it viewable (not editable).  Once we see what is remaining, we can recommend you the options to take for those courses, it should be the same recommendations on the WIKI.

I applied a few months ago knowing I had more Sophia classes to complete.  I asked for a deferral on my enrollment date.  They were happy to allow me to defer my enrollment.

Eng Comp 2 is 3 1000 word papers at UMPI. On Sophia it's 6-7 papers and takes over 2 months to complete. It's still much easier and faster at UMPI.

Do you see the final assessment on your bright space contents page I can’t seem to find it and the professor isn’t sure why it hasn’t popped up automatically .I’m still working on milestone 3 revisions and I received a 2 overall for it so maybe the final assessment section will pop up when I get a 3 or above . thank you for any answers you can provide.

In addition to the professor, you may also want to get in contact with your advisor and mention what the issue is... It could be a system issue with BrightSpace since they've moved to a newer learning system. If not and neither the advisor/professor can fix this, they'll most likely need to send it to their internal support for resolution.

You can't see the Final Assessments until you finish the course content now. I know what the Final Assessment is from other students who've gained access to it.

Thank you for your advice. I thought as much i was just trying to get as much classes done on Sophia as possible and see if anyone of them could be transferable. But i took your advice and i was able to take the introduction to statistics which I believe it can be transferable? Are you in same BABA leadership and management program?

Thank you, i was to knock out th into to statistics class, and i am working on human biology lab. I was able to reschedule my start as well but i am still waiting for my transcript to be evaluated in other for me to know what other classes i will need to complete before my start date.
