Transferring credits

This is my first time initiating a credit transfer. It’s from my community college to UMPI YourPace. I want to make sure that the credits don’t “get taken away” from my community college since I still have to finish out the Fall semester there to get my associates.

Notes:
I need to complete my associates at my CC because it’s a stipulation of my financial aid.
I am not using financial aid at UMPI at all, only my CC.
I am overlapping the end of my associates with my first session at UMPI. I can handle the workload, just want to make sure I am not overlooking any mistakes in doing this. 
I have asked both colleges, just waiting for responses. I wanted to get some input here too.

Edit: I got my answer, it looks like I cannot be matriculated at two colleges at once so my CC told me to do UMPI classes as a "guest student". I don't know if there is any way to do YourPace as a guest student so I may have to defer my start date until Spring 2025 Session 1.

I understand you got the answer you needed, but having credits "taken away" from a college isn't a thing. When you transfer credits, they don't actually move, the new school merely accepts them towards their own degree requirements. You're free to transfer them again another school, or return to the school you originally earned them from and use them there. Each time you use those credits at another school, including applying to grad school, you go back to the original school for the transcript.

Also, being enrolled at two schools can be done. If you're being told no, it's the policy of the school you're asking, not a general rule.

You will need to delay your enrollment at UMPI. They don't offer guest students in YourPace. You can attend as a non-degree seeking student however you're limited to 2 courses per term which is not cost effective. 

College credits aren't taken from a college. They transfer but they remain with your original institution.

I would recommend you delay your start at UMPI. If you manage to complete your bachelor before you complete your associates it will likley cancel your financial aid, leaving you on the hook for your final CC term financially. Why - because once you have a bachelor you're not eligible for financial aid (grants/scholarships). And yes, there are databases such as the National Student Clearing house that track these sorts degree dates and share them among colleges/universities. In my opinion, it is not worth the risk financially for a few months delay in starting.

Today’s update: I spoke to Nicki (sp) at UMPI on the phone. She said I was already matriculated since I confirmed my acceptance (in that Good News email I got last month) so I am currently matriculated at two schools at once. I may lose my financial aid for the last semester of my CC, and that is something I’ll have to work with my CC on. Thankfully I am only taking 2 classes and may be able to use employer reimbursement if funds are available at my job.

Speak with the CC, not with UMPI. Did you pay the flat rate fee at UMPI already? If not, 'life happens', you can tell them you'll take the next session by delaying until you complete the CC classes and that's it... Matriculation means you've graduated high school and applied, accepted at the college/institution, it doesn't mean you're a student yet until you pay your classes and are registered for them.

If you don't start UMPI until after you graduate from the CC you will be fine with your financial aid. Just delay your enrollment start date at UMPI.

I spoke with my CC financial aid director and they said I have to provide proof from UMPI that I am not receiving financial aid from them, and that the classes I am taking at my CC will transfer to UMPI. The first letter is being sent today and I will need to wait until I receive my transfer evaluation to request the second one. It seems like I may not have to defer after all, but I am going to confirm to make 100% sure once both letters are received that I will not lose my CC financial aid.

I have not paid at UMPI yet, so if for some reason my CC does not accept the proof, I can still delay my UMPI start.

Good news! However, I can't see why your CC should care whether their courses transfer to UMPI or not. The only thing I can think of is some attempt to protect you from an unscrupulous school that says courses will transfer, then later refuses? The rub is that you generally can't get that kind of proof without actually transferring the courses, and that often requires being enrolled already.
