Hello everyone!
I have been following this amazing forum for almost 5 years and I have decided to take the plunge and start working on a degree. I am wanting to work towards a BA in English with the ending result being to finish thru UMPI.
I really need help building the solid 90 credit roadmap that I can transfer to UMPI to get me close to enrolling. I have just started taking courses thru Sophia Learning and right now my pace is set to complete 2 courses a week. I started with College Readiness and Conflict Resolution as my first 2.
If anyone is able to help me put together an update 90 credit roadmap to UMPI, that would be amazing!!!

@kennetim000, that's a pretty good start and going on pace about 8 courses/month... What may help is to provide us a few more pieces of information from the template and last post addendum here: New to DegreeForum? How this Area works! Basically, continue with Sophia.org for now and update us when you've done all you can with Sophia.org and Study.com, check out the UMPI History Plan from link below.
Also, I would invest in a second monitor, complete Sophia.org classes that fit into your degree plan and then complete courses from Study.com that also go into the degree. Review the two links here: University of Maine at Presque Isle Wiki and UMPI Plans - Degree Forum Wiki | Create a spreadsheet template of a degree you're interested in to keep reference/track of your studies. Take your time, pace yourself, good luck!

(10-11-2022, 02:10 PM)So basically I can just hit the ground running and knock as many courses starting with Sophia and they should all be able to transfer as General and/or Electives? I will definitely follow what you said and create a spreadsheet and also review the links you attached.bjcheung77 Wrote: @kennetim000, that's a pretty good start and going on pace about 8 courses/month... Essentially, yes. You can get up to 90+ credits, just 90 will come into the degree plan, the rest will go "under other" but will still show on the transcript. The WIKI guide is just that, it's recommended courses to take. For me, I would change a few things around and just stick with Sophia.org/Study.com, so I wouldn't bother with courses at StraighterLine for example and just continue taking it at Sophia.org/Study.com instead. It's personal preference on the free elective courses too, you can take whatever you want that can transfer into UMPI.

I think you can do almost everything at Sophia; and then take Biology w/Lab and American Government at Study.com (minimum); if there are any Sophia courses that are taking too long to grade, I might think about adding on LL courses at SDC. Ones with no papers.

I would not just take classes. I could develop a plan and track everything. Some classes on Sophia don't transfer. You have specific requirements to meet with a degree at UMPI. The best way to get to 90 credits fast is first to develop a plan on which courses are required.
Have you created a spreadsheet? Are you reviewing the degree plans in the Wiki? Foundations of Eng Comp does not transfer! Which soc and psych courses did you complete? The names have changed. Business Communication isn't in the transfer database yet so we can't see if they accept it how it comes in. College Readiness doesn't waive anything at UMPI. You still have to take the Orientation course. Topics in History also isn't showing the transfer database. You don't have any math courses. Do you plan on taking any courses that transfer into the major or the concentration?

That's close to the 90 credits, I would review the WIKI and review to verify the courses you have listed are in there, the bulk of your courses should already hit the 40 GEC and free electives...
