Test help: Need 6 hours science, 3 hours elective, 3 hours Public Speaking

I just found this board and have read quite a few posts, but I was hoping I could get some advice.

I will be graduating this May, but I have a few pesky hours I would like to test-out of instead of pushing my classes into the summer.

I need 6 hours of science... I'm open to DSST or CLEP. At my college, the DSST Health and Environment tests are counted as electives so they are not an option. At first I thought I would just take the CLEP Natural Sciences and get the 6 hours my college grants for this test, but after reading this board, it sounds like the NS test is pretty hard. I'm looking for EASY at this point. Can anyone tell me the easiest route to 6 hours in the sciences?

I also need a 3 hours elective. Doesn't matter what subject, etc. I've heard the CLEP Analyzing Lit is pretty easy. I'm a strong English student... is taking this test pretty sound advice?

Lastly, I need to take the DSST Public Speaking test. This is not optional... I have to take this one. Can anyone tell me what it's like? Also, what's the best way to prepare?

Get a copy of the CLEP Official Guide and try the practice exams. You may find that Natural Science is quite passable. I scored a 71 on it with no preparation other than attempting the practice exams in the Official Guide and the Princeton Review Cracking the CLEP book. I had Chemistry and Physics in high school almost thirty years ago, but I never had Biology. I've read some science over the years and watched NOVA and other programs like that from time to time. Anyway, the practice exams in those two books will tell you whether you can pass the real exam or not. If it's not the easiest way to get 6 science credits, then it's got to be pretty close.

I haven't taken the Analyzing and Interpreting Literature exam, but I did the practice exam in the Official Guide, and it looks like a very easy one. But again, try the practice exam -- that's the best way to judge.

Depending on the college you are at the requirements and what is accepted may be different.

If your college will accept it I recommend taking Astronomy DANTES/DSST exam. Super basic and you get a letter grade at some schools for it.

Hi, You said you are a strong english student. I recently took CLEP freshman comp (6-units) and passed. Here's the kicker- I never took an english class. If you are good at Eng. and understand how to do a bibliography APA style (you can learn this in a few hours) You should have NO problem. I was worried about passing but (as long as you can recognize what's wrong) you should be good to go... Example

We went to the fair where we having a good time.

We went to the fair where we had a good time.
...What doesn't fit?
