TESU BSBA Final Stretch Check-In for Support
#21
Response from ECE:

Dear XXX,

I have reviewed the evaluation report, the information which you provided, and the information and resources used in preparing the evaluation report. Based on this review, I have determined that the conclusions of the evaluation report prepared for you correctly convey our judgment.

Regarding course listing on the evaluation report:
In Spain, accredited universities may offer proprio (e.g. institution-specific) programs that are not officially part of the national qualifications framework. ECE considers these programs to be accredited when the official academic documents are issued by the accredited university.

In many cases, proprio programs are taught at teaching institutions that are separate from the accredited university. Teaching institutions (known as centros) listed in the Registro de Universidades, Centros y Títulos (RUCT) database, which is maintained by the Ministerio de Ciencia, Innovación y Universidades, are authorized to issue their own academic documents for programs offered in partnership with an accredited university. Centros not listed in the RUCT database are not authorized to issue academic documents.

In the case of the MBA and Master in Big Data and Business Intelligence program, the accredited university is Universidad Internacional Isabel I de Castilla and the centro where the program was studied is Escuela de Negocios Europea de Barcelona (ENEB). ENEB is not listed in the RUCT database, so it is not authorized to issue its own academic documents.

The diploma, which includes a list of the modules taken in the program, is the only official academic document issued for this program. The university does not issue a separate transcript with individual credit and grade information for each individual module. Instead, the diploma only indicates the total credit value for the complete program (72 ECTS credits).

Because the diploma does not include specific credit or grade information for the individual modules taken in the course, ECE lists all courses together, with the total credit value assigned to the block of courses and an overall grade of S for all of the modules.

In the past, ECE listed individual modules for this type of program. However, we have determined that our previous approach does not accurately reflect the information included on the official academic documents issued for these programs. We have updated our policy to more accurately reflect the information included on the official diplomas issued for these programs.

Regarding module missing from report course list:
The report we prepared is missing the Digital Transformation module from the course listing. If you would like us to revise the report to include this missing module, please respond with an email, and we will revise the report to include that module as part of the single course listed on the evaluation report. We would revise the report and replace all initially ordered copies at nor charge.

Please note that no other changes would be made to the evaluation report. Only the missing module would be added to the single course listing on the report.

In summary, no change will be made to the evaluation report at this time. If you choose to have the Digital Transformation module added to the report, we will revise the report to include once we have received a response from you.

I hope this information is useful to you. If you have any further questions, please feel free to contact me.
_______

The idea of having my brother now pay for a third review is painful. This is, of course, an optimistic assumption that ENEB will provide new documentation to support the credit-hour request.

All guidance welcomed.

He's using ENEB for the RA credit requirements? Just wondering, is he going to be taking in 3 extra classes in addition to the cap/cornerstone, or he taking the full 15 plus cornerstone/capstone?

Residency Waiver – 15 credits
SOS-1100 Information Literacy Today – 3 credits
BUS-4210 Business Administration Capstone – 3 credits

That is the plan / ENEB for the RA / Or one of the options in mind.

Do you think taking the 15 + 2 is a financially viable option?

Not 100% clear on the pros/cons at this stage for him, and one removed, so probably mentally not locked in enough, as if it were me paying. One key reason I appreciate you and the members is your support with these final decisions and hurdles.

It really depends on your budget and what you're going to do for later, example, go for a Masters such as a MSM or MBA, MAOL, MSML, etc, that's the reason I was asking about the 15 RA/residency credits plus the cap/cornerstone. Let's say you have tuition assistance or reimbursement, or have the full fin aid package without a need to pay back (free cash/not a loan), then I'd do the Bachelors to Masters option for the 18 RA credits in total, 4 Masters level classes, plus the cornerstone/capstone, but spread it evenly to max the fin aid. Otherwise, do the 15 credit flat rate and have the cap/cornerstone, plus 3 classes that are easy.

At this point, he plans to cover tuition out of pocket, as no financial aid options apply to his situation, and he is not currently employed in a role that offers tuition reimbursement.

His sole purpose for completing the degree is to meet the admission requirements for an Anesthesia program in Frankfurt. He has no intention of using the degree for a business-related master’s. His focus after graduation (TESU) is entirely on the medical field, and the degree’s value lies in unlocking tuition-free training opportunities here in Germany and across Europe.

If I’m understanding the flat-rate option correctly (based on the information provided here), the most efficient path would look something like this:

Flat-Rate Course Plan (15 Credits)

Cornerstone Course (SOS-110): 3 credits
Capstone Course (BUS-421 for BSBA): 3 credits
CIS-1070 Computer Concepts and Applications (e-Pack): 3 credits
Introduction to Sociology (e-Pack): 3 credits
Marriage and the Family (e-Pack): 3 credits
Total: 15 credits

Given this structure, it may be better to defer the Universidad Internacional Isabel I de Castilla transfer issue for now and move forward with flat-rate enrollment.

That said, clarifying the transfer evaluation from Universidad Internacional Isabel I de Castilla into TESU is still essential for the forum and future students. He’ll receive a final determination either way before we consider that matter fully closed.

Hmm, it really depends on his time dedicated to studies, e-packs are good if you know the subject really well, classes are better if you want to learn the subject matter and it provides a better chance of passing with a good score. One option is to do a double Bachelors with two capstones and the cornerstone, plus two easy classes. To keep things simple, here are 5 classes I think are great options for the degree plan, read post #8 from LevelUp: https://www.degreeforum.net/mybb/Thread-...#pid447400

Update on TESU + ENEB/ECE Evaluation

What TESU Said:

TESU reviewed the ECE evaluation of my ENEB/Universidad Isabel I degree and confirmed that they cannot award any transfer credit from it. Their decision is based on the fact that the diploma lists only a single 72 ECTS block, without a course-by-course breakdown. TESU does not accept block credits and requires individual course listings with assigned credits and grades, which the ENEB/Isabel I documents do not provide.

TESU also noted that they reserve the right to make their own credit determination and, based on the documentation submitted, cannot recognize the degree or award credit at this time. They suggested checking with other approved evaluation agencies *only if* those agencies can provide a course-by-course breakdown.

What ECE Explained

ECE confirmed that programs offered through ENEB are proprio programs. Because ENEB is not listed in Spain’s RUCT registry, the only official academic document issued for the program is the diploma itself. No official transcript exists, and ECE cannot create course-by-course listings because the university does not issue module-level credit or grade information.

So What Now?

Based on what TESU and ECE have confirmed:

My brother can check with other NACES/approved agencies (SpanTran, IEE, etc). Still, historically, none have produced a course-by-course evaluation for ENEB/Isabel I degrees because the needed documentation doesn’t exist.

Is It Worth Pursuing Further?

He only has the two required TESU courses left, and those cannot be replaced with transfer credit anyway. Even if ENEB credits were accepted (which seems unlikely), it wouldn’t change his degree progress.

If you’re in a similar situation, close to finishing your TESU degree, the practical value of continuing to chase ENEB RA credit is minimal.

Posting this in case it helps others avoid unnecessary time and expense. Happy to answer questions if anyone is going through the same process.

Also, open to hearing if there's anything I am missing that might be useful for my brother moving forward.

Cheers

Find the cheapest option of getting 15 RA credits, be it classes from UofPeople or 5 TECEPs, or even the freebies on the WIKI (or a combo of all options combined) Link: https://degreeforum.miraheze.org/wiki/Fr..._of_Credit

Here's an example, ~9 or so credits from Freebies list, plus 2 Free TECEP exams for new applicants=15 credits. He can ask for the scholarship if he's never had it before, if not, it's two exams done cheaply.

What about 15 credits at UMPI in a term?

Would you rather pay $53/credit and do 15 credits worth of TECEPs, or pay $1800 for 15 credits? Another reason the TECEP is recommend is because the OP is under 20, they can't start the UMPI session... Unless you can dual enroll at a community college for cheaper than $53/credit, then I'd recommend TECEPs.
