Can someone quickly confirm for me that I simply go through my ACE account to get my SL credits on my ACE transcript? I know SL has a "transcript" option, so I want to be sure I'm not missing a step. Also, does anyone know if (like ALEKS) SL deletes your record after completing a course? Thanks!

Hi Cooksderosa,
You can very easily go through ACE to get your credits on a transcript. The SL "Transcript" is just that actually, they send their own transcripts to the Partner Schools. I'm not sure if other schools not Partnered up with SL will actually accept a transcript if it is not through ACE, since they may not know what Straighterline is.
I did the SL to ACE SL-Psychology to Excelsior. They don't have it listed as a course in their Partner College scenario, so I made sure to get it ACE transcribed and to Excelsior, which they accepted with no problems whatsoever.
Straighterline sets up your ACE account, so don't expect anything to appear automatically because they are the ones who initially begin everything.
Regarding if they keep their course scores on file, I'm sure they do, but can't confirm or deny that.
Hope this answers some questions!

Hi cookderosa,
To get my credits onto an ACE transcript I just emailed the adviser at SL who contacted ACE to start and finish the update.

Hi Cook,
Same for me, I used ACE for my psychology credit. When I took the course it was newly activated so the advisor contacted ACE directly to transfer the credit. It may be all automated through ACE by now.
Yes, similar to aleks once a new course is activated you then lose access to the old one (even though you'll see them all listed on your home page). So I create PDFs of all my tests/exams prior to closeout to keep for reference. Andrew said they retain scores if needed later.

thanks everyone, we already have the ACE account (it's my son's actually) so I'll just request via ACE since I suspect it's faster than having SL do it. Thanks again!
