haven't seen this pop up yet. Southwestern College & New Earth Institute is a spiritual university that focuses on the world and education through the arts. Accredited by the former regional accreditor Higher Learning Commission (HLC is now DOE accreditor since the change of "no more RAs", but technically still RA). 

Classes are in person in Santa Fe, New Mexico, or self-paced online.

Interesting... Someone should do an evaluation for programs such as these, I would compare programs from similar offerings and see what options are viable for each student because of cost, time, etc. I recall there is another program that was recently mentioned from Kairos University, there is a wiki page mentioning they're CBE, Link: https://degreeforum.miraheze.org/wiki/Co...d_Programs

The cool thing is their tuition, it's $400/month for a few of their programs (Masters of Arts in Counseling, Marriage & Family Therapy, and Doctor of Professional Counseling). I wonder why their $600/month is for the Doctor of Theology, I would have thought that would be "cheaper" or at the same price as their $400/month offerings. Anyone know the reason? Doctor of Theology is cool. I was raised Jewish-Christian I'd probably enjoy their classes tbh.  I also love how there's a generic Master of Arts for those that need that checkbox. RA accreditation not too shabby.

The critical piece of information re the Counseling degree programs is whether the program makes the graduate eligible to sit the state licensing exam in that discipline.  If not, then I would recommend the prospective student should stop and reconsider.

New Mexico is also rather unique when it comes to psychology as well. PhDs in it are allowed to prescribe, don't need to be MD

That's good.  But there's one more element to consider.  As we know, state licensure requirements vary from state to state and so the prospective student should determine if that holds true in the state where they intend to live/practice.  Maybe it's good in New Mexico, or California, or wherever but what's important is whether it's true where you are too.  I like these sorts of programs and enjoy looking through the ones that are a little outside the lines.

Is $4400 the confirmed total cost for the Kairos Doctor of Professional Counseling program? Wouldn't the price be dependent on how many months you're enrolled for? Or is this an 11-month program? Maybe I'm missing something, but I looked at the info on the site and couldn't confirm anything about the pricing beyond the monthly cost and one per-credit tuition rate for "other" courses/programs:
