Academic Institute of Higher Education
#1
Hey everyone!

I’ve been looking into the Academic Institute for Higher Education (AIHE), based in Germany. They offer online bachelor's and master's programs, especially in psychology-related fields like Applied Psychology, Organizational Psychology, and Forensic Psychology. The flexibility of their distance learning model really caught my eye, as they seem to target working professionals. I also noticed that their programs are accredited through partnerships with universities like London Metropolitan University and FHWien der WKW in Austria, which makes them internationally recognized (as per they say).
Has anyone here studied with AIHE?

I’m curious about a few things:

  1. Program quality: How practical and engaging are the courses?
  2. Support: What is their student support like? Did you feel well-guided through the process?
  3. Real-world application: If you've completed a program, how has it impacted your career? Are those Top Up Degrees equivalent to a BSc?
  4. Costs and scholarships: They mention scholarships and payment plans – did you find the fees reasonable?
  5. Overall experience: How smooth was the enrollment process, and what’s the online learning platform like?
I’d love to hear about your personal experiences or thoughts on whether the programs are worth it! Thanks in advance!

AIHE isn't accredited, they're partners with a couple of universities, East London and London Met, and the main red flag is that they're a company that helps the students find the degree/institution they want to complete the degree from, it basically offers a service to link the two... You're going to be taking the classes from East London or London Met... It also seems they've got a ladder to the PhD for those who finish the Masters with them.

Thank you for your input, bjcheung77—it does seem that way.

I am particularly interested in the BSc in Applied Psychology as a top-up degree since I already have some training at the MSc level in psychology-related fields. My goal is not to register with any official board but rather to apply the knowledge in my work within the field of organizational psychology. For this purpose, accreditation is not necessary.
However, the idea of earning a BSc in Psychology with just one year of study feels somewhat unusual—almost too good to be true, if I’m honest.

I was wondering if anyone else in this forum has pursued this or a similar UK top-up degree program.
Any insights would be greatly appreciated!

Thank you!

Unless you're getting the degrees for free, which I don't think is the case, the recommend BA Psych options from Excelsior, TESU, UMPI, etc would probably be cheaper, easier, faster and provide better ROI than AIHE. You can add the Walden MS Psych and it would cost the same amount as this AIHE... If I read correctly, the cost is almost 10K Euro, that equates to 13K USD. If you're amazingly fast, you can do the BA Psych, MAOL, and MS Psych each in 1 session/term, for $7K USD flat.
