I am taking now Shopia's Intro to Statistics and it is rough going.
Could anybody recommend a book or online resource for Intro to Statistics?
Another thing, if you drop the course and after a month retake it. Are the challenges and milestones the same as the first time around?

my 15 yr old got through this class by taking notes and reviewing the notes frequently. what exactly u having trouble with? its one of the more straight forward stats class out there and the lectures are great. how fast are u going? try slowing down and really studying it.
study dot coms material is good.
youtube is a great resource.
khan academy is ok
but that course should have everything you need. slow down and take your time.

I found that that sometimes a concept was discussed but not explained in the transcripts. In that case, I watched one of the videos and that usually cleared it up. I did have to google a certain calculator once to figure something out. It's all pretty smooth until the last chapter. I'm sure with patience you can get through it. Good luck to you!

The videos were great for getting through Intro to Stats. There were a few tricky parts but the videos were definitely a must. I liked Jonathan Oster's videos the most. Can't remember exactly why but he seemed to be the clearest and/or do the best at explaining what might not have been covered well in the text.

Probability and Correlation I have trouble with. Also, I am new to Sophia format. I should take notes and review them as opposed to just watching the videos and trying to answered the challenges. Thanks.

Sophia's Stats, while not easy, is very straightforward and because it is open-book, much easier than other stat courses. The concepts build off each other so you have take good notes from the beginning and print off your practice challenges for reference. Do this and you should be fine. Also as Rachel said, the instructor Jonathan seems to explain things better than the other instructors.

I had the same issue and I dropped the course after taking half of the first unit. But after studying "Foundations of Statistics", it helped me to understand "Introduction to Statistics" really quick and built a great foundation but the only issue that it's only reading.
you can find it also on Sophia. Good luck

I agree with another poster here: work on Sophia's foundations of statistics course to help you be more prepared for the introduction to statistics course.

Can anyone tell me how long this course took you to complete as in total hours? I asked for an extension already because I have other college courses I am needing to finish and then I will have 6 days to dedicate all day to the intro to statistics Sophia course. Is that possible? I would love to hear any feedback on your experiences timewise. Thanks!
