I'm not so sure they're even good for just learning the subject.
It's been a while, but the couple courses I looked at were extremely disorganized with broken links and non-focused content.
Depending on the subject, if you're just looking to learn, there's likely better free resources out there.
On the other hand, if you know the subject very well and don't have to suffer through the course, it's nice that you can skip right to the exam. But as has been stated, they're appear to be pretty difficult exams.
