Prometric DSST MIS Practice Test
#21
jortholmes Wrote:Thanks! Hmmm... I would say "yes" the Prometric tests were very similar to the real thing. Since Prometric doesn't give you feedback on all the questions, I would recommend taking screenshots of every question so that you can research anything that you feel fuzzy on. A lot of work, I know, but until Prometric improves their testing system, then it's what you should do, I think. But, I'd really say to use the Prometric tests to gauge yourself. But I really think that you'll be able to pass with no problem since you have previous IT experience. But then you said that you were having problems with the business part of it. I've done a lot of business tests, so that part was mostly stuff that I recognized. You can do it, though.

Thanks for that! I just looked over my previous two Prometric results and explanations and then took another practice test and scored an 80! I'll study a little more, and take it one more time soon before taking the real thing.

Forgot to report back, I scored a 455 on the DSST, was averaging like a 60 on the Prometric. Also bought the 5$ DSST practice test, scored around an 80 on that, gave some decent feed back if you read the answers the questions you missed.

Thanks for the feedback everyone! I actually pushed this exam back a bit further because I decided I wanted to take the DSST Intro to Computing the same day. I took both today after about 15 hours cumulative study time the past month and passed MIS with a 437, and Intro to computing with a 454! MIS was definitely interesting to learn and I personally didn't expect needing to study this much having an IT background. Turns out MIS is different from what my background has provided me. Having an IT background would probably allow you to pass Intro to computing cold, but not MIS imo.
