Prometric DSST MIS Practice Test - Vampir1c - 07-01-2015 Hello everyone, I'm planning on taking the DSST MIS exam soon, and wondering if the Prometric practice exam that is $5 is a good indicator of how well I'll do on the test. I've found favorable information on Prometric practice exams in general but not much for the MIS exam. I can't access any Peterson exams, and I've also heard the Peterson practice exam haven't been updated since 2006 whereas the actual exam was updated in 2008. Can anyone clarify on this? Thanks! Prometric DSST MIS Practice Test - Vampir1c - 07-22-2015 I'm scheduled to take this in a week. Anyone have any idea on this? I've taken 3 different forms of practice exams, and they all seem to have different expectations from what I'm studying (IC and study notes). Prometric DSST MIS Practice Test - jortholmes - 07-22-2015 Hey everybody! Vampir1c brings up a good question. I'm interested in knowing the answer as well. So far I'm really enjoying studying for this one. I don't have a computer "background", but I'm not totally ignorant in the subject either, so this is really tying things together for me. I was sort of intimidated going into my studying, but am liking it more and more. What's your take on this Vampir1c? BTW, your info on the Peterson's is quite accurate. And also, FYI, I haven't ever used their practice tests (which I've heard are sort of expensive and discouraging) and I've been able, praise God, to pass all my tests. So don't think that you're missing out on something, because in all likelihood, you're much better off! Jade Prometric DSST MIS Practice Test - Vampir1c - 07-22-2015 jortholmes Wrote:Hey everybody! I agree, it's pretty enjoyable to study. I've been working in IT for the past 3 years, so I went in this subject a bit arrogantly. Turns out the Business aspect is a bit more than I expected. Manageable with studying of course just more than I anticipated lol. Omitting the Petersons (which is one of the three I've taken) I've taken the official DSST practice test ($5) and bought this guide for $10 College Test Prep Guide Purchase Contact Info That guide has a test of 85 questions which it says in the beginning that the questions are actual questions from previous MIS exams. Both exams vary in what they ask of you though which is why I'm having a hard time gauging my knowledge. Prometric DSST MIS Practice Test - gingerbeefE - 07-22-2015 I was suppose to take this test yesterday but the proctor didn't show. I will be able to let you know if it was a good measure in a couple days but the practice tests were pretty hard, I only took two and scored about like a 55 on both and they are discouraging. I feel like it might be over preparing me ( or maybe I just don't know much about information systems) the only real downfall of the prometric tests is that they stick to a certain subject area on a test for a lot of questions ( for example, Expert systems on one, and DSS on another), so If you know that area well you will score higher Prometric DSST MIS Practice Test - jortholmes - 07-22-2015 Vampir1c Wrote:I agree, it's pretty enjoyable to study. That being said, I have to agree with gingerbeefE and say that it does seem like they focus on one subject. And I wish that they would give you a 100% feedback of the practice tests, rather than just the ones that you get wrong. Every time I take a PT or real test, that's what I put in the feedback box. :-P Sometimes I wish that I had some IT experience... :-) Did you know that you only need a 58-62% correct to pass? I think that that's a really low percentage, but I'm finding out that it's pretty much the norm for DSSTs. I suppose I should be glad, but it sort of makes me feel not too smart, if you know what I mean. But I know I'll be glad when I take the real test. Have you taken Principles of Finance DSST? I think I'm doing that one next and I'd like to know what it's like. The 55's are what you are getting with the official DSST practice exam? If that's so, I took that twice and I've also scored in the 50's. I wish you all the luck on the exam!
