Aaaw, come on now!
OF COURSE you did as well as me....you passed, and you earned six credits in a very tough Accounting exam that covered two semesters worth of material.
I believe that is EXACTLY and ENTIRELY the same thing I accomplished.
There is absolutely no downside to scoring a 60 on the CLEP Principles of Accounting exam Upgray.
Try not to sell yourself short! You passed, and you passed WELL.
hilarious
CONGRATULATIONS!!!

Congratulations avi! You passed another one!
I don't know how these tests are scored either. I know the formula seems to be different from test to test. Seems wacky to me too.

hey-
I'm set to take clep principles of accounting on this Friday(18/Aug). And from what I've read on this forum I'm slightly nervous. I've been practicing with instantcert flashcards. and I find them very hard to do. I took one set of 70 questions just this morning and I got only 10 right. I'm debating with myself whether to put off the test till later or not. Is instantcert an indicator of how ready I am? I seem to have the basics of financing in my head somewhere; but ratios and formulas--that's something else. The worse is management! I will be lost on this one.
I'll be looking at the sites listed on these messages and thank you so much for them folks.
One good piece of news: I found out yesterday that I passed the DSST principles of finance: 52, it's a B--acceptable.
I have 45 credits now: from CLEP, DSST, and one Latin test from NYU.
15 to go for my associates.

Hi Rome,
Welcome to the board.
The aim of Instantcert is to help you learn the information. How many of the missing words you get right or wrong has little or no bearing on your mastery of the subject. The blank spaces are just a tool to help you stay focused. Some people don't even bother to actually type in the answers, because it is not about learning those missing words: It's about learning the material (questions AND explanations).
If you REALLY don't feel that you will pass this exam on Friday, I would definitely recommend that you postpone it until you feel confident in your knowledge of the subject. It will be worth the extra time if a small delay means you will pass.
Unfortunately, we can't help you make this decision. Only YOU know whether you feel adequately prepared or not. However, if you are still totally struggling with the material and don't feel that you have grasped it yet, I would say that you are probably not ready to take the exam. Personally, I would postpone the exam until I feel comfortable with the vast majority of the material, and until I KNOW I am able to pass.
It's your call in the end though.
Hope this helps,
Snazzlefrag

I have passed! I couldn't believe it when I pulled up my scores and saw a 50! I truly struggled with that test. I answered the last 15-20 questions hardly reading them. I knew the rule of answering every question to up your score as much as possible, with a lucky guess here and there. When I had answered every question I had ony five minutes left.
Funny thing I thought before the test I would do better on financial accounting then on managerial accounting--but now I think it was just the opposite! I Must have memorized cost variable stuff and department centers from IC flashcards. I know my score isn't impressive, but I have this to say for InstantCert: It made me review and learn things I didn't even think were necessary. Certain math functions and processes for example. I probably would not have passed without it. In fact I'm sure of it.
I now have 51 credit hours-9 left to go.
I am planning to take dsst Ethics in America.
Good luck to everyone else!

Phew! It doesn't get any closer than that Rome. But on these pass/fail exams, a 50 is JUST as useful to you as an 80, and the Principles of Accounting exam is by no means an easy exam. The bottom line is that you PULLED IT OFF!!! Nobody can take that away from you now. Nor can they take away those SIX BEAUTIFUL CREDITS you earned today! Ha ha!
hilarious
Congratulations...and well done!

Snazzlefrag Thanks so much! Having taken 9 credit hours of business just recently (account+per finan) and adding them to 6 previous credit hours, makes something possible that I wasn't even considering: A business area of focus. I did not aim for this, and yet I seem to have it.
