You did GREAT!!! You have to be pleased with your score??!!
It sure sounds as though that was a much tougher exam than even I imagined - I sure hope I didn't lead you astray about not worrying about the formulas. Shows what I know...
You gave invaluable advice for anyone studying for that test; as they say in New Zealand "good on ya"!!
I'm glad you've got that behind you now.
Take care!
Thanks Kiwi,
Actually, the ratio questions didn't necessarily all involve solving an equation. They were more along the lines of:
"If Current Liabilities decrease, what effect will it have on the Current Ratio?"
Obviously, you need to know what the formula is in order to answer the question. This is how they get around the need to use a calculator.
Having said that, I can't believe they don't allow the use of a calculator on this exam. There were more than enough calculation questions to warrant the use of a calculator! (3 month's worth of interest at 9% on a loan of $180,000...$750,000/365...lots of addition and subtraction dealing with tens or hundreds of thousands, etc.)
See, now I'm scaring everybody again! Relax folks! Just remember, I got a 68, and I am far from being a math whizz.

You have until June 30, 2007. Seems like plenty of time, but you should take it sooner rather than later!
Also, the CLEP fee is going up from $55 to $60 on June 30, 2006 (ten days from now).

WOW! 68!! I am excited for you, Snazz! I am so glad you not only passed but did so well. (I am also relieved. I had no clue where to send the search party. hilarious )
Thank you for taking the time to share so much information. I am thinking about studying for this next month and will follow your notes closely as well as what else I can find in the other threads.

TODAY, yes, today, i am starting! no more procrastinating. i miss ic and my flashcards. i feel like i went cold turkey. good thing i'm doing statistics next. i'll mainline those flashcards and feel as good as new. hilarious

Great score Snaggle. I can only dream I did weell like you. Unfortuntely I don't think I passed this exam but I'll never know because I thought I did so poor I chose not to report my score at the end of the exam. Being the first time test taker I didn't know better I guess.
Now I am stagnated in my degree plans because w/o the 2 accounting classes it's very difficult for me to move forward as they are a prerequisites to my other classes. Oh well!

Adrian,
I thought you were going to contact them and ask them to report your score? Did you decide against doing that? I'm surprised that you didn't contact them, because you had nothing to lose by doing that. I remember we talked about that option when you first told us that you had canceled the score.
Are there any other exams you can take while you wait the "six month" retake period out?
Don't lose heart Adrian. This is just a glitch, it's not the end of the story!

Oh well! keep your chin up! it's just a bump in the road. everyone experiences them. take a few minutes to brainstorm and write down every idea, no matter how silly it might be, that could be a solution to this setback. there are ways over this. you may have to go around or under, but there is an answer. keep us posted!

I didn't do as well as snazz but thanks to the excellent feedback on study sources, especially principlesofaccounting.com i scored a 60. I used the first 3 chapters of the online book to understand credit and debit which was truly confusing at first. The rest of the information i learned using only instantcert. the managerial accounting information i wasn't able to absorb using instantcert, so i did a lot of guessing on that part of the exam. If i was to do it again, i would use the online textbook to understand the managerial part. It really was a laborious exam; i used all but the last 4 minutes.
