Possible Pierpont BOG Alternative? EWVCC

I would go for the cheap or freebie associates degrees when going for the bachelors at TESU, UMPI or whatever you have in mind.  An example is for people who have Bio II and Calculus I, they can do the ASNSM Bio & Math at TESU for free, then do whatever BA they're after, or if they're at UMPI, they can do the AALS on route to getting the Bachelors...

No it's not a bad deal but if someone came to this thread and saw the first post with this info "3. EWVCC = $188 x 3 credits = $564 for 3 credits" they'll be in for an unwelcomed surprise.

The star is TOCC, they have this amazing AASC and transferring 45 CR, that would leave us 15 CR x 34.35 more or less 600 dollars and a great associate degree. The question is as I can’t find in their website about CR transfer into the program neither minimum RÃ, I just guessed 15, but can’t confirm at this point.

Is there anyone there how has anymore info?

PS: my goal is to transfer to UMPI BAS

And anything below $1000 for the associate, I’m also no-US so fewer option at least this one does accept international applicants
If you're starting without an AAS, it's probably better/cheaper/quicker to skip the BAS and just do the BLS or BA instead. However, this comment doesn't answer your question or add any new information so I looked into it:

Link to 24-25 Tohono O'odham Community College Catalog https://tocc.edu/wp-content/uploads/2024..._final.pdf
The AAS Business Management requires 60 credits. 15 credits are required for residency and 45 transfer credits can be applied to a degree. You should also use the Catalog to look at degrees since the degree information on the CC website is out of date for some reason.
“A maximum of 75% of credits from accredited institutions can be accepted toward the certificate or degree; i.e., 25% of the credits that count toward a certificate or degree must be taken at TOCC.” (24-25 Catalog page 26)

The school accepts CLEP exams (24-25 Catalog page 27). I couldn’t find anything on specific exams on the CC website or College Board CLEP database, but I did locate a list on aztransfer (https://aztransmac2.asu.edu/cgi-bin/WebO...w/2.0.13.5)

While it seems like the CC accepts several CLEP exams, most of them satisfy the same requirement. It looks like only 13 credits will apply to the AAS BM:
  • College Composition satisfies 3 out of 6 credit English Composition Requirement “WRT 101 Writing I”
  • Precalculus, College Algebra, and Calculus all satisfy the 4 credit Math Requirement “MAT 142H College Mathematics or higher”
  • Principles of Microeconomic, History of the US I, History of the US II all satisfy the 3 credit Social and Behavioral Sciences requirement “Any course with prefix ECN, GEO, HIS, PHI, POS, PSY, or SSE”
  • American Government satisfies 3 of the 6 credit Electives requirement “Choose any course designated with the following prefixes: ACC, BUS, CIS, CSA, MGT, MKT, POS, or PSY”
I am unsure if the CC will accept alternative credits. From Sophia “We haven’t previously worked with “Tohono O'odham Community College”. Check with your university’s registrar to see if they accept Sophia transfer credits.”

I see that this is bit of an old post, but definitely interested in this for my husband.  I am going to reach out to them today to investigate if they accept ACE and his PMP certificate from Cornell.  Let me know if there is anything else I should know that has come up since you posted.  And thank you for this.

Basically, for those who are going for an associates degree and ladder to their bachelors, you may want to investigate UMPI / UoPeople first and then look at TESU and others that we recommend. The reason is that the associates should be free on route to the bachelors degree when you complete the requirements for the bachelors. TESU is a great option for this, but for cost, ease, speed, UMPI and UoPeople are now better options...

I transferred 90 credits over to UoPeople for Bachelors, but was never able to process the associates, because they had a random course that I did not fulfill the requirement for, even though it was an option for transfer on my transcript.  They just never used that one (Personal Finance), so I always assumed it was because you cant transfer in 100% of the degree.  I also already had the Pierpont Associates, so it really didnt matter to me.

On a side note, Tohono O'odham Community College got back to me and they DO NOT accept ACE credits from Sophia or any other outside source.  This is a total bummer, because it would have been a great option for people.
