My nephew enrolled in a Welding certificate program back in May. The certificate was supposed to be the equivalent of about 16 credits . The classes were to be held 2 days a week for 4-6 hrs ( not sure of exact times) and the whole program was supposed to take 18 months.
Now on Aug. 1st they changed the program it will now be 4 days a week from 11AM - 3 Pm the whole program will be about 30 credits and take at least 2 years.
This means he has to quit his job (he was going to just lose 1 day a week) and he has 2X as much driving to class and it will be hard to find anather job to fit around his school hours. He had already paid for the semester and his student aide was set. Now it will cost more and it is too late to request more aide.
My nephew is very discouraged before he even starts and I am worried this is going to sabatage the whole thing.
Has anyone ever heard of a school doing anything like this at the last moment? I just don't see how they can get away with this after you are enrolled and paid??:ack:
