All of the people I dealt with regarding my recent application are real UMPI staff. I did not deal with the marketing/salespeople that call themselves "Enrollment Specialists".
The Barb that I dealt with is this person: https://www.umpi.edu/campus-directory/barbara-lambert/ She appears to be UMPI staff.
I agree that the pushy marketing people need to go. I also agree that the actual UMPI staff is completely overwhelmed. I don't think they have any malice toward prospective students. I think they're just drowning in applications to process in a short amount of time. When applications fall through the cracks, they just tell the student it's too late, and most probably don't question it. I find it curious that the student that applied two-months before the deadline (cerich67's wife), and myself (who applied nearly one-month before the deadline) are the ones that fell through the cracks. I wonder if the newer applications that came in after my app just buried mine in the pending queue. It makes sense. As new applications come in, the older ones get placed at the bottom of the electronic queue.
I don't know. At this point I could speculate endlessly about what may have gone wrong.
There seems to be some positive response from the Chancellor, so I hope it all gets resolved. Thanks again everyone.

I know UMPI is overwhelmed and am wondering if in-flight students could also get lost in the shuffle.

They had all summer to process my application for fall but it never got past the completed status despite me telling them I was still waiting for my transcript (which their system show was recieved) to be evaluated and to find out if I was accepted to the program.
I can't log in to the MaineStreet account now to check on anything so I assume they've inactivated it. I wish they would have communicated with me, even if only a quick email.
I'm sorry to hear you're in this position now, especially after speaking to them and thinking everything was in order. Like the others I don't see how it could hurt them to let you get started with a course you know you need and then catch up on your application.

I highly doubt that current students could "get lost" in the shuffle. Current students and prospective students are (mostly) handled by separate departments. It sounds like the UMaine-system evaluators are dropping the ball and that there isn't much that the UMPI-specific staff can do except take the brunt of the blame.
Once you're a current student, you should be good.

Are you referring to Dr. Susan Chang? She's not the Chancellor. She's the Dean of YourPace. I don't think you're speaking with the Chancellor. There's only 1 Chancellor and he runs the entire U of M system. UMPI itself doesn't have a Chancellor.

Wow, you are describing exactly what happened to me. I kept logging in to my UMaine account and my application just sat there. That is when I called to get the status of everything and was assured they were very busy but they'll get to my application, and I didn't need to do anything further, but just wait. So, I did. Then, after trying not to bother them for a couple of weeks, I was told it was too late, and they stopped responding to me.
I wonder how many more of us there are.
I agree with you. It sounds as though they process the most recent applications first, so those of us that applied ahead of time are at the bottom of the pile. I'm so sorry you also had this experience.

I enrolled at NAU last year. I really liked my experience with them. You can start literally any time once you are accepted. You go in and choose a date (it just has to be a Wednesday if I recall right). You can try it out for 10 days before you pay. But they don’t take as much in transfer credit. It was only like 56 credits or so, I don’t remember the exact number. Tuition was around $3000 for 6 months. It may have gone up a little. I didn’t go forward because I realize that I don’t have the right motivation for CBE plus I do have a BS degree already. I decided instead to start on MBA classes…. Slow and steady.
NAU is a good option, but could have limitations if you wanted to transfer in more credit.

There is now for certain a pattern, one could be a outlier, two, weird but maybe, three? Naw, they have serious issues.

That's not generally how an electronic queue works - Newer applications come in and get behind older applications in the queue.
I'm guessing, instead, that there's some sort of breakdown between the applications process, which seems to be done in one area, and the transcript processing of transfer students, which is done in a different area. Those people are dropping the ball, and not processing the transcripts and then getting the students over to YourPace quickly (or at all). The YourPace staff is not following up on the students who are in their system "on hold" because of transcript issues. They can see those students (they created accounts for them, so their end is working properly), but probably can't see what's going on in the transcript evaluation area (the registrar) and can't tell what the hold up is.
Not sure what the issue is exactly, but I can't understand YourPace just walking away from this issue and letting people get screwed over. That doesn't make any sense to me at all.

I might be barking up the wrong tree, but I'd still try this, call Susan and ask to see if they have your admissions completed, if it's completed, ask to start courses as if you're a freshman but you get to pick which courses to start, so if you have X transferred, you know for yourself what you're missing, ask to start the orientation and a course or two.
Here's an example template I created for a triple minor to illustrate what I mean if you can proceed further. Start the courses other than the Sophia.org/Study.com in this spreadsheet for the triple minor. That's it if you have the opportunity to start anything, you're not asking to take courses that "duplicate" what you already have. You take remaining courses first and transfer the rest in after starting the 1st course with permission.
Again, with the option to start, take courses you need not repeat your previous credits, as I mentioned in the earlier post, you'll transfer them in while you're taking courses towards the degree. Link: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1...sp=sharing Lastly, I think you were speaking with those enrollment counselors. There is no "Barb" in the admissions crew: https://www.umpi.edu/admissions/admissions-crew/
Oh, and you're not micromanaging anyone, you're just "following up" with your application and making sure your evaluations are taken properly at the correct levels. If you want, you can try WGU and see if you can finish their degree in Business. They don't take too many general education courses, but it's a free application, just pay for transcripts. Another option is Excelsior as they also have free applications and they take ACE/NCCRS, just 7 residency credits, and TESU if you want... What do you recommend doing for classes, while waiting on enrollment and transcript review? I used your link to read the Degree Plan, but don't understand which is UP and LL. Are the 300 and 400 classes the UL? Should I pick classes in the 100/200 range that I know aren't on my transcript or have less than a C-? I do have a couple D's that won't be transferring. Also, how do I ensure that my Physics w/Lab class gets approved as such? There is nothing in the title that says Lab, but it was with a lab, and the reason why it was 4 credits versus 3 credits. Thank you.
