The reason I want to take some 1 credit courses,
is just to get back into taking classes, after a long time off.
Looking to finish an associate degree.
Not really in a rush.
I am kind of impatient,
and I figured that 1 credit courses might be quick and easier,
because of less course material.
Plus a faster Reward for completion.
i like to break things down into smaller chunks.
I figured that after 3-6 1 credit courses,
I would then take on bigger commitments
thank you all very much!!!

Give Sophia a try. The 3-credit courses are already pretty quick and easy!

Being a credit short is not unusual. Most community colleges have a few available to help students get over the top. I'd suggest that you contact your local CC and ask them what they've got.

@midnite123, it's best to provide more details too, so we can assist you better as we will know your situation. Can you copy/paste this template and give us more info such as your budget, commitments, school, work, etc? Having the limited info you're providing, I highly suggest an Associates from where you're getting your degree and then a UMPI Bachelors *IF* you don't have commitments, kids, etc. Link: https://www.degreeforum.net/mybb/Thread-...Area-works
In regarding to "getting back into taking courses, chunk by chunk", taking a 1, 2, or 3 credit course using alternative credits is the same thing... I would recommend CLEP/MS if you're close to a testing center OR if you don't mind ProctorTrack's history, Sophia.org and other ACE providers are secondary recommendations if your school accepts them.

Hi,
This is really a great forum!
So much info!
And I know this has been talked about many times.
With so many great ways to get credit these days,
I thought this would be a cool discussion!
I have 30 RA credits from my Local Comm. College.
What are the best ways to get another 30-36 credits to get an A.A, degree.
Liberal arts/General education as a major is fine.
I am basically looking for--
---Easiest
---Cheapest
---Fastest
Thank you very much!!!!

at most community colleges?

Most schools should have at least a couple 1cr options, but the usefulness of them will definitely vary (my local CC has a 1cr "student success" course that they force on everyone, and it's useless for anyone who has managed to survive beyond age 5).

Does it need to be an AA specifically, or will any Associate degree do? Check out this page for the FREE Pierpont BOG AAS: https://degreeforum.miraheze.org/wiki/Pierpont_C%26TC
