Pierpont BOG AAS Update (Re: Transcripts)

Congrats! Got mine on Friday too.

A couple of thing I want to point out. First, forum Wiki mentions that you need to send high school transcript or GED. Jessica confirmed that it is not necessary to submit HS/GED documentation so I didn't.
Secondly, I submitted application to graduate on May 4th and graduated on May 7th. Again, that was something that Jessica permitted to do. I guess if someone misses the official deadline, there is still a chance to proceed anyway.

Interesting. I wonder why you didn't have to submit the HS/GED documentation. I know that at least a couple of us were required to send that information in before we could be considered enrolled.

I am taking one class at WVU Parkersburg to complete this degree there as they have a 3 credit residency requirement and I need more RA credit anyway.    I also did not have to provide any HS transcripts.

I did have to provide the ACE transcript and my transcript for the community college I obtained 6 credits from, of course.
I'm also finishing up English 101 from ASU and will need to provide that transcript to them as well to round out the 12 RA credits needed.

83 Credits

I would also be grateful for the answer to this question.

You may want to review this thread for degrees: https://www.degreeforum.net/mybb/Thread-...#pid338225
And this for certs: https://www.degreeforum.net/mybb/Thread-...#pid338332
You can do a search on this forum, there are other ways of writing this, but it's all personal preference.
Furthermore, you don't really need to have the BOG if you don't want to include that detail.

I asked Pierpont what is the proper way to represent this degree and you must indicate your major as BOG.  Below is how it should look.

Pierpont Community & Technical College, Fairmont, WV - 2021
Associate of Applied Science degree, Board of Governors program
Area of Emphasis: Information Systems

This may sound unexpected coming from me, but I can understand why you feel that way. This forum does a great job of staying focused on helping people who share a specific goal. That forum has a wealth of knowledge, especially when it comes to lesser known grad school options, but to find it sometimes takes a lot of sifting through off-topic discussion amongst cantankerous old gaffers (myself assuredly included).

Seems you cannot have a prior degree.

From Nancy Parks at Pierpont.

We've received transcripts to apply to a Board of Governors degree; however, the BOG degree is reserved for students who have no previous degree.

Your records indicate you received a degree from Thomas Edison.”
