I was supposed to have this all done months ago, but I've just become so sidetracked with other projects. My college is 30 minutes away and availability is a real bee sting. But my parents are demanding to see my degree. For some reason my community college requires the optional essay for analyzing lit. They are so stingy with all this. Most schools offer 6 credits for the humanities CLEP, they offer 3. I took the multiple choice portion of the exam a few weeks ago, completely cold, and scored a 59. I excel in reading comprehension, but I fervently despise old literature about trite subjects, such as love. And most of the readings had to do with love in one way or another.
So now I have to take the essay portion, which I've been putting off because I can't find any information about it. From what I understand, there's two essays. One requires the writer to analyze a poem, and the other puts a literary technique to use. I am terrible at writing under such severe time constraints. My essay for the college composition CLEP was no more than six sentences long. The essays get passed around the english department for scoring. The head of the department is an egotistical pecker head who grades so subjectively. Does anyone have any experience with these essays?
