I want to try the culinary class, but I don't have 3 seconds to even start. Maybe next month.

It uses The Everyday Gourmet, Rediscovering the Lost Art of Cooking from The Great Courses as the main video. https://www.thegreatcourses.com/courses/...oking.html I'm also taking the Nutrition class which is super interesting!

The Great Courses series is a CIA series if it's the one I'm thinking of- which should be very good. Hey, what are they using for Nutrition?

The Psychology and Healthcare class use UCI OpenCourseWare. I didn’t check the others.

I'm still not a fan of NCCRS credit for high school, however, this might be a little different- I can't think of another way to roll a culinary MOOC into college credit (I haven't checked all their subjects) so this might just be a case of "frosting" credit - as opposed to really worrying about something important like English. On a different side note..... I hope they got permission lol.

Lol, I spent a bit of money on that Everyday Gourmet Course a few years ago..I wish I knew I could get it for free (and for credit!), I would have waited
How exactly would these classes fit into a TESU BALS? Being 100 level classes will they be good to fill the GE Electives? And hopefully also the 2 allowed area of study LL courses? My guess is that many of their courses will come as equivalent to similar 100-200 level courses at TESU. However, I suspect the intro to culinary skills and body sculpting courses will probably come in as free electives rather than GE electives though since they don't fall into the standard GE classifications. Courses that don't fall into established buckets tend to come in as free electives when they are accepted. But who knows, they may be more generous for the BALS. As far as GE electives, the ones I expect to see are the Astronomy, Biology, Computer Science, Criminal Justice, Environmental Science, History, and Psychology courses. The rest seem like they will probably be considered applied or other, and not qualify as Gen Ed. I'd welcome Robotics in that list, but that screams applied science which probably means no GE. Hopefully, we'll see some folks complete and submit the OnlineDegree.com courses for credit soon so we can have more than just hunches and guesswork to go on. The robotics, culinary, and body sculpting courses seem interesting to me, but I don't have any more room for free electives in my degree plan, so I probably won't be able to make it work. At least not for this degree. I am considering taking Psychology and Environmental Science though, since they're most likely to both be Gen Eds and I have a couple open Gen Ed slots.
