I@ErieHiker just because you view things a certain way doesn't make it true for others or their future hiring managers. I've sat through numerous classes in real life on YouTube and doing homework for other classes just to pass the final just fine. My professors didn't care and it wasn't an ivy league school so it doesn't really matter...Life isn't fair and if someone wants to use OnlineDegree or whatever other source of credit to better themselves more power to them.

I don't think they were belittling the site nor that Macguyvered solution to speed up progress through unskippable videos; I interpret their final sentence as "This [technique to open multiple windows] is obviously for people using the site as a test-out option." Even if that isn't the implied meaning, I don't really see much in the that statement that looks down on people for a proven path toward higher education, which would be especially odd on a forum like this.

This is totally separate from your main point, but I disagree with even hinting at equating an "Ivy League" education with the only kind of learning that matters. There is such a vast swath of other schools out there--both with and without highly competitive admissions processes--that this kind of statement always strikes me as odd, or even as putting down one's own self-improvement efforts. The path and the degree that you have had can be just as valid as others', and this is the kind of forum where people can embrace meaningful disruptive education.

I'm just confused at a reply to a two-year-old post that doesn't even say what it's being criticized for. I might need more coffee...

Necromancers Unite!

But this may be a good opportunity to say that Onlinedegree's History course, the only one that I personally dabbled in last year, felt pretty interesting and informative. I do wish they had more options to control the videos though.
