I received a message from the Admissions Director at Luna CC who states that the Sate of New Mexico has ended their out of state tuition discount program....so the rate is $91/credit for out of state students.
The e-mail I received:
"Hi Mike,
Larry send me your email. The tuition cost was recently changed due to the New Mexico Legislature , there is no longer lower tuition for students taking 6 hours or less. The cost for out of state students is $91.00 per credit unit. If a student applies for Non-degree/certificate status the will receive credit for the completed course. A placement exam is still needed for a Non-degree/non certificate courses.
Director of Admissions."

I'm always happy to complete the free application waiver for those applying to WGU (I get a free gift from WGU for this). Just PM me your first/last name and a valid email so I can complete their form.

That's not good. But I do understand why this is happening. In fact, I would not be surprised if every institution raises their tuition rates.

Yeah, $91 per semester hour is still pretty great!
Luna lists three of its Associate of Applied Science degree programs as available entirely online [ pdf] – in Business Administration, Military Studies, and General Agriculture. Business Administration is widely sought. Military Studies and General Agriculture are both interesting and relatively unique.

That sucks. Luna was going to be cheaper than my local community colleges for the first 6 credits. This is still good for those who don't have cheap CCs in their district. Mine are about $56 per credit.

They are still listing $ 35 a credit hour for out-of-state, up to 6 hours. Same rate as in-state.

$91 is still ridiculously inexpensive
how do you take placement exams ?
they couldn't possibly want you to get a proctor and schedule an exam would they ?

Current out-of-state tuition rates is verified here: https://luna.edu/media/schedule_pdfs/SU1...mplate.pdf and https://luna.edu/media/schedule_pdfs/SP1...mplate.pdf
And for fall, https://luna.edu/media/schedule_pdfs/FA1...mplate.pdf
But remember that you need to have to be in front of the computer at certain times while the courses are occurring on campus. And for those who live in the Eastern Time Zone, I wouldn't necessarily recommend early morning classes ...
