Maybe I'll be a guinea pig for this.  I would only need two courses for the Accounting Certificate, and I think I can talk by employer into paying the fee. I just posted to find out what my source for course options are under another thread. If I opt for this I'll be sure to report back here.

I can confirm, as of this morning, they do not have the same new credit requirements. My BSBA from 2018 covered all but two courses of the TESU Accounting Certificate. I did have to ask to have them move one of the courses into the plan, but they did so once I confirmed I was willing to pay the residency waiver. If they hadn't moved the course it would have left me 9 credits (3 courses); if I took those courses with TESU there would be no waiver (as it would have been 50% of the certificate credits). They have also preplanned/approved the two courses I'll be taking through Study.com for the remaining 6 credits - they are reflected on my evaluation now.

I'm en-route to a BA CS/Math, would love to pick up CIS on the way if it doesn't cost extra, what would I do, just let my adviser know..? Has anyone tried that, when do you get the cert in that case, only upon graduation? Also are there actual benefits to having these certs from a job market/further studies POV?
Completed TESU BA in CS & Math
Target grad school: OMSCS, or UoTA MOCSO. (Contemplating research)

Yeah, you just get them to add it and forget it. When you finish your BA CS/Math double major, you'll already have sufficient credits for the CIS cert (as long as you're taking the courses required for the cert towards your BA CS). In your case, the benefits aren't there as it's redundant, add it & forget it...

It's similar to someone with a BALS-Psych, you get the certificate along with the degree as they use the same courses. If it was in something different, that would work to your advantage... For instance, someone was going for a BSBA Entrepreneurship and CIS, they can add a cert in operations management.

hey all!

QQ: What is the policy with completing the required courses in between capstone completion and graduation?

For example, let's say your capstone for BALS ends July 28th, application for September graduation is July 1st, then can you complete the courses for the certificate by August 1st and still graduate with both?
